I would also be thrilled with a Benny Santiago card. They would need the animation to have him throw from his knees however!
Side note... I was never a great IRL player, but I was good at 2 things: bunting, and throwing guys out from my knees as a catcher. I practiced that SO much because of him.

I have always wondered if SDS looks or even cares about the fanbase’s wishlist for legends.
Ted Williams last year was DEFINATELY a top addition for the masses. I’m sure the money they have to pay for the rights is an issue. Players like Barry Bonds doesn’t want to give up his likeness or the asking price is too high. But players like Cobb, you have to wonder if it’s his estate or SDS choice. SDS has never been transparent about it. -

I would assume so. Last year they let go of an inner circle hall of famer, considered pretty much universally the top player at his position. I don't think they would have done that if people mostly didn't like using him
-
I want to see Todd Van Poppel, Greg Jeffries, and Cory Snyder “the corn dog”
-
I’d love to have Sam Horn as my DH. He totally rocked the strikeout or megabomb motif way before Schwarber made it fashionable.
-
Steve Balboni would be a fun one.

-
@Finn_Scotus_MLBTS I use Ivan Rodriquez quite a bit and he throws from his knees
-
@rageincage007_XBL Hopefully guys like Ivan are more valuable with the new pop time rating.

While I am sure money per individual contract is a factor, I do believe SDS uses data to see how much each Legend is used by the player base and their decision on who to resign/remove is influenced by their popularity within the game.
The biggest issue I have with this model is it's always an addition by subtraction thing. For as many new names as the upcoming game will introduce it's guaranteed we will be losing some players as well and sometimes they're pretty significant (Cobb, Mariano, Ernie, Reggie, Mattingly, Foxx). Then you have guys who literally just pop up for a cameo and are never seen again after one year (Peavy, Kruk).
It's almost as if they have a strict, non-negotiable budget for Legends and simply mix it up from year to year to stay under that threshold instead of annually building upon it. I understand that it's a business of course although it is still discouraging as a consumer who puts a big value on the Legends roster.
-
@SakAttack87_PSN The problem with dropping legends because people don’t use them is a problem with how content rolls out. These legends need to be the early 99’s because people will use them if they are.
People used Scott Rolen last year.

im confused. They let go of a hall of famer? If they let go of someone everybody uses, that means they don’t care.
Who are we talking about? Schmidt?

@NWOStunna_PSN That was my assumption.

Great List.
The truth with the list is that many people have already been in the game and then were removed. Sometimes SDS nails it, then because people aren't playing with the guy 24/7, they dump them.
Just a small list off the top of my head that is very similar would include:
Rogers Hornsby
Jay Buhner
Will Clark <- A Must
Kevin Mitchell
Matt Williams
Ty Cobb
Kirby Puckett
Dwight Gooden
Sandy Koufax
Dave Winfield
Ichiro
Barry Bonds (One Can Dream)
Jack Morris
Carlton Fisk
Alex RodriguezThe truth is that most of my desired players have already been in the game before... Need to definitely keep the legends and players we remember

100%
Just looking at your list, a good amount of those names were just in the game a few years ago to the point where it feels almost cheap having them brought back under the "NEW LEGEND" banner. Even with superstars like Pujols and Felix coming back into The Show this year, it's hard to be overly excited since we just had them both in the game about three years ago.
-
I still think they should do "local legends" players. They could get rights cheaper and fans of those teams would love it. Guys that weren't HOF nationally but fans love them. I was thinking Mickey Lolich, Gates Brown, Willie Horton, Bobby Higginson, Bill Freehan, guys like that for the Tigers. I'm sure other people could name some from their teams.

Yes. He and Ricky were by far the top players of their generation. They should never have dropped him, but people dislike his swing so...
