Welp, stadium vault isn't carrying over to 2026
-
The fact that people here still look at this as a net positive is a clear indicatior of being woefully naive and prone to disappointment as well as ignoring the clear and obvious discussions and analysis that I and other youtubers and those in the stadium building community have talked about for years.
Understand one simple thing...everything they do for this mode is for the sole purpose of diamond dynasty.
By deleting the vault they kill two birds with one stone.
-
They eliminate the work of every die hard stadium builder of the past 5 years thus running off all the same die hard people who have held on in this God forsaken community for over half a decade much like they did to the online franchise community.
-
They welcome the basic, cookie cutter simple minded community who just use the mode for monsters and any other kind of unnecessary props that people have complained about for years.
They got what they wanted...
They litterally released a game with a mode that was broken for a whole year with the intent of never fixing it and some of you are here still hoping for something different.
You will get upgraded textures if youre lucky. Notning else. The fact that alot of you still believe in these people is concerning....
-
-
I guess we will just have to wait and see. I still say that if they fix their overall vault procedure so that we don't wind up with thousands of duplicate stadiums cluttering the vault then it is a Net Positive. Sure, it sucks for those who have created the stadiums but it will make the vault easier to use and navigate for everybody else. I could see a vault overhaul requiring a wipe to function properly.
If they have not changed the way the vaults operate then I agree that they have screwed the stadium creators.
-
@Dolenz_PSN you dont need to wait for anything...you've had 5 years of inaction and gross negligence of an actual game last year.
-
Okay, if you say so. But I am still going to wait and see. It costs me nothing and saves me a month of anger and frustration.
I honestly don't expect any major upgrades to the Stadium Creator but I am still hopeful that the vault is fixed. Would I bet my hard earned money on it though? Not a chance.
-
@Dolenz_PSN
Don't give up hope. The negativity on these forums is unreal. I understand the frustration everyone has, especially after no updates last year. 24 did bring us three updates in the form of props. Two of them were pretty useful with the turn of the century and contemporary packs. Maybe we'll at least get some new prop packs this year. -

Do you realize how easy it is to model 3D objects and texture them? For professional video game coders, it is very easy. There are software suites that make it easy enough for most lay people to achieve. I know, as I used them to create 3D objects used by software companies in Microsoft Flight Simulator and Combat Flight Simulator titles. And my level of talent is nowhere special compared to people who get paid to do it professionally.
I will state right here plain as day ... Stadium Creator will get nothing new, and receive zero upgrades. If I am wrong, I will come back here and correct myself. Will you correct yourself if events prove me correct?

@PriorFir4383355_XBL
Correct what? That we should still hope for something? I'm not claiming they'll do anything, I'm just saying being that negative every time you post something isn't going to get you anywhere. -

Your approach is quite a bit like demanding that a battered spouse keep a stiff upper lip and remain optimistic.
SDS earned their lack of goodwill from me ... they worked for it!

That is a bit of an extreme stretch, comparing yourself to a battered spouse simply because a game company did not prioritize the features you gave them feedback on.
-
@Dolenz_PSN right? It's a bit more like a kid complaining about not getting what they want from their parents then claiming they have terrible parents when they don't get it...

Except kids don't generally pay for what their parents hand them for free, now do they!
For the record, my two "boys" are both in their late twenties to early thirties, both married, with children of their own.
And yes, when a company of any kind says one thing and continuously does another, it is my right as a paying consumer to call them out for it. Perhaps being 62 years of age I grew up during a time that companies had to compete for business, and angering customers through poor service was considered taboo. I sincerely hope as a society we haven't allowed corporations to lose that focus without serious consequences.
-
@PriorFir4383355_XBL I've only been on stadium creator since the show 23 but I'm curious as to (because I don't know) what they said they would do with stadium creator, but didn't?
-
Sarge can confirm what I'm about to write.
SDS took public suggestions we both made and said that SDS would work on them. SDS never did. But, the worst part that happened this year was private, but given all the events that transpired, both Sarge and myself concluded it was vital to publicly air it.
We both privately warned SDS of the Lagrasa risk associated with the code option to move all the stadium perimeter walls. This because SDS failed to include movement of the baseline and backstop wall panels with the coded option to render the stadium ineligible for use in online games.
Sarge further suggested that vice a hard ban, instead the code be further amended to enact limits to the wall moves before a stadium would be barred from online use. I simply advised SDS of the risks and urged them to quickly expand the code "as is" to ensure cheat stadiums wouldn't harm online game play.
Sarge and I both advised SDS to expand the already existing code to apply it to the movement of any wall panel. That would have prevented LaGrasa from ever being an issue to online game play. We made those suggestions while custom stadiums were already barred from online use due to a bug SDS discovered with their use (not due to the wall movement code). The existing code only invoked the online ban when an outfield wall panel was moved.
SDS had two months to receive, review, and enact upon our warnings, and privately SDS assured us they understood the issue and would act on it. Their definition of acting on it was to amend the code in MLB 25's version of Stadium Creator to further restrict the movement of baseline and backstop wall panels, but leave wide open the same oversight we warned them about.
Had SDS implemented our suggestion, then people could have placed a thousand cheat stadium in the vault without any of them hurting legitimate online game competitions. This because the revised code would have detected the move of any wall panel and made said stadium ineligible for online play. Again, they already had the code -- they merely needed to extend it to apply to movement of any wall panel. Again, SDS chose to ignore that option, leaving the backdoor wide open to LaGrasa, and I call that deliberate malice.
From previous years' feedback, about three dozen dedicated stadium designers who used to regularly participate at this SDS forum (has since diminished to less than one dozen) have given SDS a list of items easy to implement but never acted upon.
This forms the bulk of it.

@PriorFir4383355_XBL I get all that but the question was, what did they promise or say they would do that they didn't? Your response is that you advised them on something or made suggestions. They haven't broken any promises or failed to do anything with stadium creator that they said they would...

Prior is right, we did and have been trying to work with SDS for a couple years now about improving the Stadium Creator, through simple QoL things. We had long been told that they would be working on things for the creator to improve its functionality, or that it would be “passed on”. It’s implied that all modes would continue to be built upon when any developer says they’re always looking to improve the game.
This merely came to a head this past iteration with the entire Lagrasa nonsense. Someone had accidentally discovered how to move the foul territory fences…and at first it was viewed as a boon and many creators leaned into it and told SDS “cat’s out of the bag now, you might as well work with our suggestions at this point”. It was maybe two or three days after this that the first Lagrasa popped up.
We privately messaged SDS community heads in an attempt to get a round table going on how to improve the creator, building off this accidental discovery while maintaining the integrity of the mode: Basically saying all they needed to do was implement min/max requirements in order to keep stadiums online eligible, while at the same time gatekeeping gross abuse of the new found freedom.
It’s not that they “promised “ and failed to deliver…it’s that they looked at the option of either working with the Creator community on genuinely improving the mode while maintaining their restrictions on garbage stadiums- OR the optically horrible option for total control with zero interaction. They went for the second option- not a good look in the slightest.
That’s why we’re largely disjointed with SDS…it felt the like entire interactions were entirely in bad faith. I 100% understand not everyone’s on board with the creator, and that’s cool…we’re all allowed to enjoy different parts of the game moreso than others. It’s the implication that was made, and not remotely followed through on despite at least two years worth of requests to provide feedback taken from designers from end users. That’s all

I 100% agree with the frustrations on it. I always talk about stuff I'd like to see in the game when I stream with people in chat and how they could do x, y, and z. However, if you're going to say "when a company of any kind says one thing and continuously does another, it is my right as a paying consumer to call them out for it." They haven't promised anything officially in trailers or online to deceive you into the buying game for that purpose and then pulled back on it. Maybe I'm looking at it too much from a legal standpoint. I have posted my frustrations here about how they aren't really listening to what we want too. I ranted a bit on here when the futuristic props came out about how we ask for certain things (bullpens on the field, no home run line, etc) Same stuff you guys talk about too. The post was called "SDS just proved they don't listen." But my overall point is that they haven't been deceptive to the consumer in any way as far as I can tell. I'll stand here with you guys and back you up that we aren't getting the updates we'd like to see all day though.
-
Only true time they’ve listened was creating standing fans. (And might we please get a single fan option too, at that?)
Other than such, not much has intentionally improved with additions.
Bullpens behind walls, better foul line wall angles and options, better ways to “cut off stands,” improved usage and snapping with objects—especially batter’ eyes, etc?
We can’t even get Canadian flags, different colored neon lettering/more number options for fonts, or cactus props in the game.
Thus, how can we even hope for the bigger, and more important QoL upgrades to core Stadium Creation concepts?
Unfortunately, we can’t hold our breath about anything.
Anger about this eventually does lead to apathy—and often that leads to the worst ultimate outcome… the failure of an entity overall.
I truly hope that’s not the case, as we all have common love for the game of baseball… and deep down want to see these things in The Show.
We LOVE The Show! Again, we LOVE The Show; but when you are constantly let down and feel ignored, what do you expect the consumer or fan to do? Eventually, they don’t care, and/or they leave for something else.
Constant rejection and being ignored is not a recipe for a successful partnership between customer and producer/seller. We get disappointed because we care. Get ignored enough, we won’t care anymore. Many in this forum and topic are reaching that point either now or soon. Video games are an addictive concept—though nevertheless, a company’s thought of fans doing anything for their annual dose eventually does stop for many, regardless how much our brains are wired to come back every year because of that “need,” and/or “fear of missing out.”
Please, SDS—we love your game and baseball. We care about your product. Kindly show that commitment in return. Taking such relationship for granted with customers is endlessly less than ideal.
When you can have 5 uniform creation options with mix-and-match capability in another competing major sports title, and only two uniform sets with no variation options in this game—it shows people clearly what is missing, desired, and yet nevertheless deprived.
And as for hoping things will change… Expectations should be restrained because of past inaction. Yet, it’s in most of us to continue to hope—as that is what all makes us baseball fans. Eventually, it WAS the Cubs year to win the World Series. The White and Red Sox did it too.
Now, we again hope SDS breaks their “drought.” Not counting on it—but we can hope. If fans don’t like what they see, then just don’t “go to the games anymore.”
We’re cheering for you, The Show! Come up with the clutch hit and send everyone home happy!

@Blujfan1992_XBL
I couldn't have said it any better myself, this is spot on. -
@blujfan1992_xbl you are bang on, and that’s what Prior and I have been after for years…as well as other prominent creators. I remember years ago they met with some of the “community” members (big streamers- most of whom may or may not have had their own agenda) to discuss how to improve the game. That’s what I would love, is if SDS came to us and said “Ok, now we’re seriously ready for your input on THIS mode in particular”.
-
The gaming kitchen here...I've been on this since mlb the show 21.....im not here to gatekeep...im here to keep it real. The fact is new comers and people who are casually into this scheme have positivity. Im not here for hyperbole im here to tell the truth and the facts.
The fact is this is a mode that has been neglected since 22 and whatever was given to the pioneers of the stadium creating community since then has been crumbs. This isnt the first go around that they shipped a game with vault issues and glitches and did nothing to fix it.
The fact that some of you here believe that erasing an entire vault that will alienate people like myself and most old school stsdium builders here is an insult and gross naivety of the situation.
