Finest Captains

Are finest cards going to be captains like All-Star?

They really scaled back on Captains this year. In 2024 they ran rampant and some of the more meta ones definitely got exposed/abused, but Captains as well as overall theme teams seem almost non-existent.
Curious if they scrap them entirely next year or maybe do a major overhaul of how they're utilized.

I believe they will be. For the Mets it's Francisco Lindor.

I would like some captains for legends, awards, etc to put together a theme team. They had it a year or two ago.

2023 had the most captain variety, with constant updates of theme team captains
2024 had a handful of meta captains that were season defining, but theme team captains sucked as they were crappy cards that were limited to get. And they released a bunch of potentially fun captains pointlessly late in the cycle
2025 they gave up on captains after the first month
