2025 Finest - First Look
-
Yeah the font kind of kills it for me unfortunately. Maybe it looks better in game. Tough to beat 2023 for me though.
-
Just realized this is a 10th inning card, which is intriguing. I assumed the Finest drop would be lame this year and restricted to TA. Happy to be wrong.

After tomorrow, assuming the A's only get this card... 21% of the A's Legends and Flashbacks will be either Kurtz (5 Flashbacks) or Wilson (4 Flashbacks) Unless they give Wilson a Finest card too, although he is already an A's Captain and just got a 99 in the Spooky program.

8 cards...this mode was a lot better when players got 1-2

Gary carter still only has a low gold.
Juan Soto I believe has yet to receive a non Mets card
Reggie Sanders only has Reds cards
Where was the low diamond Turkey Stearnes?
Surely they could have givent he Rays a diamond catcher somewhere?
How about the sad state of most theme team bullpens? This game has released way too few cards in general. Kurtz is one of the biggest stories of 2025 and there isnt a single card they shouldn't have released for him. People saying he has too many cards are universally incorrect. Now, maybe he doesnt need to be in the 10ith inning program, but as long as the other deserving As get 99s (Langeliers, Rooker, Wilson, Soderstrom at a minimum) then Kurtz getting a Finest is deserved, he was the team's best player after all

@Teak2112_MLBTS said in 2025 Finest - First Look: (Langeliers, Rooker, Wilson, Soderstrom at a minimum) The problem with Rooker, Wilson or Soderstrom being the Finest card for the voucher is that all three have already been used as captains. I guess there is no rule saying that they would not re-use players but I can't imagine that would go over well. I assume the new cards will be Captains. By the way - Three already have 99s but if there is one thing Kurtz proves is that it does not matter. Legeliers - 99 July Spotlight
 Soderstrom - 99 Neon
 Wilson - 99 Spooky
 Rooker 97 HRD

Harris is also an option, I believe he was the closer at year end. And Springs as well, not great but Finest in terms of As starters
-
Looks like cards designed by Ed Hardy I like the style but the font is rather meh

I don't know about the other teams but I don't think STL had a worthy enough Pitcher
-
I like the card art actually, aside from the font looking like this:

Edit: as for the A's Finest, how about Sean Newcomb? ERA in the 1s.

Romero too, but he has a decently high card I think. But really depends in they are keeping Finest count low or giving teams multiples, because having the only Finest for a team be a reliever isnt very exciting

SDS has run out of ideas. Nick Kurtz is not the ONLY A's player. We don't need another one of his cards. We already have a 99 card.
