Hitting is fine, just harder than last year. I have about the same stats as in 19, except last year my outs were 105mph lineouts; now they’re Ks or weak contact.

Hitting is exactly where they want it. which is why they aren't changing it

Exactly how they want it is squaring up meatballs and having them be lazy fly outs?

Because whatever the issue is, they haven't found how to fix it yet. That's the obv answer on no patch. Whether that's because of real-life circumstances, them just completely screwing up fielding coding and it's a mess to fix etc I don't know.

For now, I'm limiting how much time I play so I don't get mad. Been playing some Simcity and Civ 6 to pass the time

They're taking their time with this one so they don't mess it up again. It's also harder to change and test their code if they're not on site I'm assuming. We just gotta be patient with them. Game play will get better soon.

As long as they permanently fix it this time they can take their sweet time. If they rush another patch there is going to be hell to be paid

When a patch goes in the players don't like

"Curse you SDS, you patched too quickly and did not properly test it enough to get it right"

When the players want something patched

"Curse you SDS, you patching too slowly. Just throw the patch out there right now."

The patch they implemented too quickly wasn’t trying to fix a major gameplay flaw. They had a knee [censored] reaction to statistics which is a no-no. Baseball is all about sample size and it includes this game as well.

I just remember how the fielding is the exact same as last years start of the year...they seemed to have it reasonably fixed at the end of the year yet somehow it reset to the garbage beginning state from last year which is what I don't understand

Not sure what game you are playing but I can't throw strikes without them being down the middle and a ton of them are HR's. I feel like a HR derby pitcher. Ball rarely goes where I put it even with good input.

I agree the first patch was rolled out far to quickly. I don’t think they realized the following they have of players and how good even the non streamer players are. I’ve always thought in previous games I was a better hitter then the output and when I heard about perfect perfect I was like ok we will see if I’m right. Until the first patch I was just tearing the cover off which I assume most ppl were. I really don’t think they anticipated the overall number of ppl who would be hitting this way. So in there eyes they needed to patch because there is no way this many ppl could be this good. I think a lot had to do with twitch streamers going against ppl and not steam rolling them so they started complaining and SDS took there complaints and data as something must be up and made a rather quick patch that might be unrepairable. I’m still enjoying the game cause I enjoy the game as a whole always and it’s my time waster. But that is my opinion on what happened.

Maybe because you don’t understand coding and video game development? I certainly don’t either but they did implement new things towards fielding so I have a hunch it is a little more complex than just copy and pasting code.

Nothing yet. No patch notes have been announced. Not even a timeline of when it will be implemented.

SO what was the update today?

People will always find things to complain about. If the day ever comes that they're able to completely fix hitting, pitching and fielding to everyone's liking, the board will be filled with posts whining about how some random players uniform number is wrong or something.

Because it’s a process and it’s not instant. They don’t announce a patch until it’s due to go live for a multitude of reasons. The process for patching a bug is first to test to reliably replicate the issue, then to attempt fix it, then test everything to ensure the patch is not only preventing the bug from occurring, but hasn’t broken anything else, if it has go back to the start, even in the unlikely event it’s flawless first time, test some more, then it would still have to pass certification and Sony generally only release patches when they release them, not at the whim of the players. It will probably be released tomorrow at 3AM PT, if not, that’s because it’s not ready yet.

Plus, they pushed the last patch out too quick and it made things worse.

SDS would have a somewhat happier fan base if they only communicated these things a little more frequently. We’ve been screaming for gameplay fixes since the release. All I see is the MLB Twitch pro player game tweets and scheduling. Before this it was the Spielberg-ish production that led up into the release day stream.
