We Need A New Cedanne Already
-
Yes I know we recently got a 91 Cedanne. But that card was garbage offensively and I understand why.
Now Cedanne is crushing the ball, leading the Sox to an 8 game winning streak.
He's now 9th in War in the AL. Better than a lot of All-Stars.
Hopefully he'll get like a 96 or 97 soon.
-
Wow. here we go again. It took you all of one day after getting a Wilyer Abreu card to start complaining about someone else. Your team just got 4 cards yesterday and has the 4th most cards overall.
He has been on fire for the last few weeks but the question is will they give a Spotlight Card to someone who has already gotten a 90+ Topps now? I honestly don't know the answer to that.
-
This is NOT complaining. I used words like "hopefully" and "I understand why".
Is this what the forum has become? "Catch a Complainer?". Pathetic.
Oh and I've NEVER heard @Dolenz_PSN complain about his Cardinals...
A couple years ago the Cardinal fans took over this board and complained non-stop. I despise hypocrites.
-
Sorry, I should not have used the word complaining, I apologize. You have to admit though that nobody else has asked for more cards to be updated for their favorite team.
The good news is that I have checked and there have been a couple of players already with both a Topps Now and a Spotlight card so there is hope that he can get a spotlight. Despite my initial post I definitely think he is worthy based on the last 14 days. You just have to hope that it does not get lost in the shuffle of all star week.

There are tons of people worthy. Nimmo is in the exact same boat, got a crappy Topps Now (that wasnt even from this year) while being passed up for a 9 RBI Topps Now and now having two grand slams in a week and not getting a spotlight.
Nimmo and Rafaela actually have pretty similar stats, although Ceddane has a higher WAR because of better his position and his good defense.

I hope they all get cards. It's not like they will be preventing any Cardinals from getting one

I just wish they awarded more in season cards. I don't care if cards are only 2 overall higher of the same player, if they do something worthy just give them a card. Especially relievers, we need way more of those.
-
Really? I was just thinking the other day how many relievers we have to choose from now.
Here are just some of the closers with recent cards:
-Aroldis AS
-Hader AS
-Munoz AS
-Suarez AS
-Justin WrobleskiAnd I still use cards like O'Day, Gagne, Helsey, etc.

The Mets theme team has TWO relievers
I shouldnt have to be using live series cards still at the all star break. -
@Teak2112_MLBTS Detroit’s best reliever is a live series silver. We are definitely lacking in relievers.

I just looked at the 2025 team.
Excellent closer (I know ERA isnt a rating stat but a guy with 3 consecutive sub 3 ERAs shouldn't be a silver)
5 other guys with 30+ innings and ERAs under 4.I'm not saying Brennan Hanifee deserves a 96 or anything, but toss guys like this an 87 or something so people can use pure theme teams with at least some diamonds in the pen.

I have a tool so I will use it.
Here is a list of each teams best relief pitcher. Let's face facts SDS does not spend much time on RP as they know online everyone just fills their bullpen with closers.
This report lists the relief pitcher with the highest overall rating for each of the 30 MLB teams, along with their OVR and card series.

@Teak2112_MLBTS You could replace every useless icon in every program with a random upper 80’s reliever and the game would be a lot better for theme teams.
-
@Dolenz_PSN Your tool isn’t working properly. Just off the top of my head, the Reds have Dibble and Iglesias.

It actually is. I specified Relief pitchers as identified in the game. Those two are closers. I thought we were just talking strictly RP.
If we are talking both reliever and closer then I could rerun it and I am sure the list would change quite a bit

@Dolenz_PSN Thanks for the clarification. I did mean both RP and CL. Thanks for rerunning. Each team should have 4+ diamond arms in the bullpen to run a proper theme team. We get a lot of fodder cards. How about a reliever program that gives us a reliever for every team? Make the most lacking teams get the best cards.
-
I would love to run a theme team online, but my team doesn’t have a diamond CF. There’s a diamond catcher with Pathetic hitting stats. Most of these themes are just not even close to being competitive.
-
Okay, the Nats deserve the next RP/CP. Thats just sad

Not just relievers or CL. There are only 8 teams with at least 5 Diamond SP. And I am guessing that if I looked closer at the teams that do have at least 5 cards that there would be duplicated players among them.
