I like the concept, but feel like they missed on this one a little bit. It’s nice having all the showdowns, but they’re all fairly simple. I don’t think I went past my 5th batter in the lineup more than 1-2 times. So the bottom of the order doesn’t really get any PxP. I’d rather have seen fewer challenges but with more runs needed. Half the challenges you only need a single run, at the high end, you only need 3. Plus, you spend a couple hours completing them all, and still only have it up to low 70% chance on HoF. Like I said, the concept is there, just a small miss on the execution.
I would wager at least 80% of the player base needs more than 5 batters to score two runs in showdowns.
But then, that 80% isnt the target audience for DQ
You could just back out and flip your lineup every few challenges worst case
-
@SavageSteve_MLBTS Well, I only have 3-4 players I really want PXP with, so that’s a positive.

I don't think the odds are legit. Played through the latest diamond quest twice and won every "showdown". The first time I played both at the all star level, I think it was 76% chance to win the pack. I won both games but only got one pack.. ok, bad luck. The 2nd time I had a 73% chance at the all star level and played the first game, no pack. The 2nd game I played at Hall of Fame level which was 81% chance to win the pack. Won the game, but again, no pack. So if the odds are correct, I should have won 3 packs in my 4 chances, but I only won 1 pack... Small sample size, but it takes way too long to complete this mode only to not win the prize even with the "odds" (lol) on your side.

Buggy, gimmicky, mess pretty much sums up Diamond quest and this year’s game in general. Playing previous versions of this game lately with my son has shown me how far this game has fallen in the past few years.
As long as the microtransactions keep coming in though it’s all good on the Sony/SDS side of things.
-
Only gripe is that because of the randomness of pack nature, should guarantee pack on any difficulty if running the table on the map. Just ran a perfect map with 80%+ on all star, 0/2 on packs. . .c'mon man.

Diamond Quest is a hamster wheel for middle aged men.

Glad that I am too old and too lazy to jump onto that hamster wheel.

I just played a 3 inning game on veteran in diamond quest and i knew I was not going to win the game on veteran after the 5th extra inning. The cpu was doing everything in its power to beat me. After spending two hours I lost everything. On veteran!! Something i would never lose in 99 out of a 100 times. They had the cpu turned up to the absolute max. They were not letting me win that game period. Unless this was the 1 put of a 100. But I dont think so. The cpu was jacked up.

Between the dice landing on “1” more than any other number and missing out on rewards more often than not unless played on GOAT difficulty it destroys all the potential fun the mode could have had. Such a let down.
-
I did the math, and with the average chance of winning the pack through my 4 attempts being 76.5%, there is only a 4% chance that I would only win the pack one time. So either I am extremely unlucky, or SDS is lying. I am going to make one more run and see what the results are.
-
Good luck, but be prepared for disappointment. SDS will just claim the odds are glitched. It’s a built in answer to all the “questionable” things happening in this year’s game. I’m sure packs have been glitched all year too.
Ohtani is a unicorn but you can easily get dupes of quick sell diamonds in subsequent packs or even the same pack on almost a daily basis. I don’t ever remember that happening prior to this year.
-
I’d rather have this then the Bases loaded strike out 3 batters without giving up a run challenges
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN yeah they are on some straight up bs this year!
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN game is completely geared towards the top 1 percent of players. Why else would br no longer have rewards unless you go 10 and 0 or win 10 games. Nobody is winning 10 games on that mode unless you are a top 1 percent player. Period. I dont know who they think they are fooling this year. With their money grab scheme.
-
Sure seems that way. At this rate the only people playing the game in the next couple years will be streamers. Maybe that’s what they want. Streamers willing to drop thousands of dollars on the game.
However when all the regular players stop playing nobody is gonna watch the streamers except for their streamer friends. This year was a massive overcorrection and if they don’t learn from it the bottom is going to fall out sooner than later.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN agreed. Let the streamers all play each other. Cause everyone else will be gone

The conspiracy theories are running wild around here today! Gotta love it.

Played another rd and again, beat the showdown all 19 times, but only received 5% boost after winning a showdown twice (please, someone tell me how to get 5% instead of 3%, or is it just chance?). This meant my % for winning the pack was 69% at All Star level and 77% at Hall of Fame. Played both 3 inning games at the Hall of Fame level for the 77% chance. Won both games but only got 1 pack.
The math. These two games played at 77% brings the average chance for all 6 games to 76.67%. I have won 2 of 6 times with those odds. The probability of achieving the desired result exactly twice in 6 attempts is approximately 2.39%. Something is wrong here SDS!

I just wasted a couple of hours doing the new diamond quest. Way too many showdowns and too time consuming and ended up only getting 1 pack that had a 5000 pitcher. I won’t do it again.
-
Not unless I want to get tagged with taking a loss and losing 5% each time. Mine glitches just about everytime I save and exit, every time I come back I get hit with abandoning a game.
