Fielding Just Beat Me

CS level game. Battled back to tie it up 8-8 after being behind 8-0. Liner/popup to right field. Mike Trout and his gold fielding don't pick up the ball. It gets down for an extra base hit. He drives in that run to go up 9-8 and I lose. I'm now 33-5 in ranked this year so I'm not bad at the game. I don't mind losing if the other player is the one to beat me and not the game, but losing like that is so frustrating.

It is surprising how bad SDS made fielding this year. It's like they ran out of time or something and couldn't finish their coding before the release date.
Ie -- My Pitcher is standing in the middle of the baseball indicator and cannot lock on to the ball so it drops at his feet...or my outfielder runs down a line drive and the ball hits his chest or goes right past him. SMH.
This is the worst fielding of any Show game that I can remember. -
I can’t believe there’s still players on this site who defend this game. There’s only about 5-6 and they have the same old excuses every time. Just give it up already, the game is garbage and don’t make excuses for it.
Chalk up another W for Billy.

The fielding was not this bad the first couple weeks. I have no idea how it got so bad.

My opponent was pretty good. I would have been fine losing to him legit, but that was such a crappy way to lose after battling back.

I might stop playing for a while cause it’s really frustrating, one of my last two games tonight. Tony Gwynn misses a pop fly and literally ran circles around the ball on the ground, when I moved the joystick toward ball it made him circle it, like the ball was covered in covid-19 and no matter how much I tried to force him to it he wasn’t having it. Eventually my CF came over and picked it up....... two outs in the inning, ended up w a runner on third, still got out of the inning but wtf It’s constant. Also why was he running circles, I was pushing the stick in one direction, how can it be this bad

That’s what all of us “crybabies” want, a legit game where the wins and loses don’t feel fake. Not every game is like that but enough to notice.

At least you got that. I haven't gotten anything from them for my emails, not even a reply.

I will continue to say this: I don’t understand how they can’t just take all mechanics from 19 (outside that awful fly ball lock with arm running out and whiff) and put it in this game. Why is that so difficult

Well, for starters, they added countless new animations. Which includes, a bonus or penalty for fielding in the form of jumps on the ball.
It makes fielding more important, but obviously they haven't gotten it right yet.
I applaud improvements to the game. If they didn't make improvements, you'd be complaining that it's a roster update for $60.

Trout lost the ball in the sun/lights.

I lost to a WS opponent due to my cap not locking on in the outfield, then Soto also getting the same animation. He was a good player but that is a killer that extends the inning and we know that leads to runs

Lol I have that, along with a few other Scully's calls, on my custom "Sounds of the Show"... so I hear that all the time.

I just had a game my outfielder did like 5 circles trying to lock on. 9th inning one on with a one run lead. Boy, Fingers has great control for his card /s. 1st game blown save. Although probably fielding, his pitches were not going where they were supposed to but I'm used to that.

That’s cool...I’m sure you’ve also seen the reports of how bad the pitching (hanging pitches with perfect release) and hitting (Good/Okay - Exit velocity slower than the pitch speed) are they working on those also?
