Would you look at that!
-
@Shua2168_MLBTS don't know all the details...but I know they have to play an mlb game before SDS can do anything with them
-
@squishiesgirl_MLBTS once again, not true. Plenty of people scanned that haven’t played
-
@Shua2168_MLBTS it is true
-
@squishiesgirl_MLBTS lol now ur trolling bc I just proved to u that’s not true and u don’t get it . Clearly u don’t know what’s going on either
-
@Shua2168_MLBTS right....well I could be wrong but I know in years past it's how it worked
-
@squishiesgirl_MLBTS when has Seaver king played? Or Ryan Sloan ? Tyler Whitaker has been in the game for years same with Benny Montgomery…. Never played yet
-
@squishiesgirl_MLBTS dude I’m telling u it’s not. They used to actually be much better with the top prospects added
-
@Shua2168_MLBTS not a dude...well I'm telling you it was a rule
-
@Shua2168_MLBTS actually before 21 they never had real prospects in the minors unless they played one game in MLB. Having prospects before they hit the majors is very recent. Move to another game or edit the rosters yourself
-
@yankblan_PSN thank you
-
well it’s 2025 now….. and years ago they had Bobby Witt jr, adley, Gunnar , Brenton Doyle , Andrew painter (still hasn’t debuted) , Zach even, Corbin Carroll, cj Abram’s, torkelson, Sweeney, etc…literally every top prospect was in the game before they debuted. So idk what the past has to do with this conversation but it’s not relevant anymore nor is it a thing……
-
@squishiesgirl_MLBTS why are you thanking him like you proved me wrong….. idk why youre making it about right/wrong. I just think these devs are terrible at adding top prospects and they are….: you took offense to the original post when it was sarcastic…. Now you’re trying to prove me wrong when I’m right and there’s no excuse for the lack of effort they put into this game. It’s the same game every year , the least they could do is add some face scans of top prospects. 15 mins on the internet and they’ll be able to figure it out
-
@squishiesgirl_MLBTS ok I’m sorry for saying dude. If it was a rule it hasn’t been a “rule “ for years….
-
@Shua2168_MLBTS I'm not trying to prove you wrong..I'm simply saying how it was
-
Stop buying it.
-
I'm gonna have to side with @Shua2168_MLBTS on this one. At least the part about prospects that haven't been called up and played a single day in the majors. What WOULD help us if SDS would just say why some do & some don't. But, they'll continue to hide behind their shield. I feel sorry for Joe K. But, he takes their money. Like they take ours. So, not that sorry.
-
@ralph13m_PSN there's nothing to disagree with..it's a fact that SDS had to wait before they could do anyrging
-
@squishiesgirl_MLBTS I appreciate your perspective. But, the thing is, we really don't know. And why don't we know? Because SDS won't say why they haven't. If they issued a statement saying, "we can't because of X," then OK. But, they don't. And won't.
Look, I don't care either way. I kinda of don't mind them not being faced scanned. Because then, at least, I can edit the players' appearances. We shouldn't have to wait for face scans to edit them. But, my point is that Shua is kind of right. Their are prospects that have never played a game in the Bigs. Some haven't even played in the Minora yet. But, they do have face scans. He's not wrong about that.

Let’s use some logic here, so maybe you stop freaking out about not getting what you want. Here are some “things” to consider as to what it takes for SDS to get players into the game:
MLBPA Licensing Agreement
Covers current 40-man roster players who are members of the MLB Players Association (MLBPA).
Gives SDS the rights to use names, images, likenesses (including face scans), and stats.
It doesn’t cover minor leaguers or unsigned draftees not on the 40-man roster.Top Prospects & Minor Leaguers
These players are not part of the MLBPA, so SDS can’t use their likenesses unless:
They have individually signed a licensing agreement (this is becoming more common since the new MiLB-MLB collective agreement in 2021).
Or they’re promoted to the 40-man roster, automatically including them under the MLBPA license.Face Scans Require Consent
Even if a player is under the MLBPA umbrella, face scans are a specific type of likeness use that typically requires a players availability and consent for scanning. Logistical coordination and ongoing permission to use that scan in future games or updates.
Some players decline scans, others are unavailable, and some might have pending licensing issues that preclude them temporarily.NIL Agreements for Non-MLBPA Players
With the rise of NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) rights, SDS can negotiate directly with players not in the MLBPA. However, this takes time and money, and may not always be feasible mid-season.Why Do Some Prospects Get Added Mid-Season?
Once a top prospect is, added to the 40-man roster, or signs an individual likeness deal, then SDS can legally add them.Instead of assuming it’s just SDS being lazy, how about you take a breath and realize there are a [censored] ton of things that go into this and the least of the concern is to do it because some crybaby wants it done now.

@SavageSteve_MLBTS that's fair.
Not very savage, Steve. Actually, very well said. But, still, THEY could've said it.
