No Longer Changing new vs old Player Models
-
Anyone remember going back a few years they advertised how older versions of player cards would have different features than younger? Why did they do away with that.
For example, with the new pipeline past program they don’t make guys look like they did when the card is based on. Vladdy should have braids and he has his 2025 model, Marte looks like he’s 40 and is supposed to have his younger look with no facial hair, Harper doesn’t look young, they don’t put the dreadlocks on cutch anymore. Just feels lazy to me.
Maybe they do it for some select players? I know Big Mac had 2 models last year young vs old. Anyone else have examples? This should be so easy to include as a feature considering we know they have the models from previous years

I remember a few years ago when he was just about to retire, they released a rookie card for Nelson Cruz and made that model thinner, but he was like "malnourished, third world country" skinny.
I do wish they would be more consistent with updating models for players based on different eras of their career.
The one that bothered me last year was Gary Sanchez 99 card from 2017 or 2018 when he was with the Yankees and definitely didn't have a beard.
