Because it was an either/or choice right. I am sure they say down and said "Well with the next update we can either fix a minor bunt issue or completely redesign our hitting engine. Both are equal tasks so it boils down to which one we want to do?"

I see this all the time, not just in this forum but gaming forums in general, the idea that the devs should not fix any issues until they somehow tackle the big ones.

Here is news for you when it comes to this game. No matter how much you yell they are not completely redesigning the hitting engine mid year. If you don't enjoy it now then you won't enjoy it in Oct.

@Rhyno1986_XBL People are making stubs by bunting to victory on GOAT mode in Diamond Quest. This is just another move to limit stub making. That has been their number 1 goal every step of the way this year. Meanwhile, we can’t even get them to fix the attribute wheel that they acknowledged was broken pre release. Pathetic.

Also, there’s zero chance 50% of perfect perfects are outs. That’s a hill you will die on. Perfect perfects aren’t, never will be and shouldn’t be a hit 100% of the time.

It's always an extreme exaggeration. Here are Ryno1986's recent Perfect/Perfect results in the last 5 games.

Hodges: 110 mph (Hodges homered to center (445 feet). 1 RBI)
Muncy: 109 mph (Muncy homered to right (418 feet). 1 RBI)
Edman: 101 mph (Edman lined to right for a single. )
Pages: 100 mph (Pages doubled to center. )
Conforto: 101 mph (Conforto flied out to CF (F8). )
Ohtani: 112 mph (Ohtani homered to center (456 feet). 1 RBI)
Edman: 94 mph (Edman lined out to SS (L6). )
Grandal: 108 mph (Grandal homered to center (422 feet). 2 RBI)

Heyward: 109 mph (Heyward doubled to right. 1 RBI)
Gwynn: 113 mph (Gwynn grounded to right for a single. 1 RBI)
Headley: 104 mph (Headley doubled to center. 1 RBI)

Gwynn: 102 mph (Gwynn homered to center (364 feet). 2 RBI)
Tatis Jr.: 101 mph (Tatis Jr. homered to center (426 feet). 1 RBI)
De Vries: 102 mph (De Vries homered to center (385 feet). 1 RBI)
Heyward: 104 mph (Heyward homered to center (433 feet). 1 RBI)
Machado: 103 mph (Machado homered to center (377 feet). 1 RBI)

Machado: 106 mph (Machado homered to center (411 feet). 1 RBI)
Gwynn: 108 mph (Gwynn homered to center (392 feet). 1 RBI)
Headley: 110 mph (Headley doubled to center. )

Merrill: 98 mph (Merrill lined to center for a single. )
Soriano: 98 mph (Soriano lined to right for a single. )
Gwynn: 108 mph (Gwynn grounded to right for a single. )
Tatis Jr.: 104 mph (Tatis Jr. homered to right (346 feet). 4 RBI)
Headley: 107 mph (Headley homered to left (358 feet). 2 RBI)
Heyward: 96 mph (Heyward homered to center (388 feet). 1 RBI)
De Vries: 105 mph (De Vries homered to right (378 feet). 1 RBI)

    24 for 26 for a .923 Average
15 HRs (including a game where he hit 5 HRs on all 5 Perfect/Perfects
    4 Doubles
    5 Singles

Of course they were only 6 for 8 in the most recent game so obviously an issue. Forget the fact that Conforto's flyout to center was against a RH pitcher who he only has 77 power against.

I don't think the CPU pitching and hitting are even that good this year but grow tired of people making up their own numbers to try and make a point.

So SDS you seriously thought it more important and a better choice to reduce bunt accuracy and success on higher difficulty. Then to fix the prevalent issues with the hitting engine that make it hard to even play. Example 50% of the time this year perfects are outs (line out, float to the wall with 95 power, ground ball double plays), squared up good timing swings being 10 mph slower exit velo then when the pitch came in, and the most B.S. issue for the last 3 years of the game.......your PCI shrinking on low and away breaking pitches!!!!! Because in your world some how a bat gets smaller swinging at this type of pitch. But yeah bunting needed a tweak, makes sense.

bunts needed fixing (but not only this year) … I like that

They didn't fix bunts because of people bunt cheesing to win events guy. They did it because people were bunt cheesing to wing DQ on GOAT with full 99 speed and stealing. So they did it to make it harder for people to farm DQ rewards for stubs.

Lol way to look at all my rookie farming there tool bag. That was me grinding color rush on COSTCO. So take a bunch or OFFLINE grinding out of context and try and prove a point you have no clue about. Your like people who take 30 second clips of interviews and then say "look they are a bad person" instead of looking at all the available information. What a tool.

Lol your going to try and defend an argument that being perfect at a video game should punish a player??? Lol wow you seriously think that is an debate that is somehow a legitimate argument. Oh you were perfect so now we're going to punish you. All you people saying "it's baseball, that happens" this a VIDEO GAME. It is not real physics. They can code THIER game to say yes this will be a hit. How do you think they are fixing bunts. You can't fix bunts in real life. So now they are going to re-code the gane to say it will only be successful now, or they'll boost the fielding again because you know pitchers doing 25 foot splits while sliding across the mound to pick a ball happens all the time huh?

@Rhyno1986_XBL So you admit you were lying all along about the 50% and that you are whining because you don't get a hit 100% of the time. That is pathetic!

SDS promotes this as a baseball simulation video game, so simulating well timed and barrelled balls finding gloves is part of the simulation. Perfect-perfects are hit the vast majority of the time.

I think the vast majority of the MLBTS community does NOT expect perfect-perfect to be hits 100%. So, SDS will most likely not be making them hits 100% of the time.

Rhyno1986 Perfect/Perfects against other players (many games on HOF and some on All Star) (honestly these could be perfect perfects for either team)

Beltran: 109 mph (Beltran homered to center (448 feet). 1 RBI)
Dominguez: 111 mph (Dominguez homered to right (465 feet). 1 RBI)
Crawford: 116 mph (Crawford homered to right (476 feet). 1 RBI)
Santana: 109 mph (Santana homered to right (443 feet). 1 RBI)
Buxton: 107 mph (Buxton homered to left (385 feet). 1 RBI)
Piazza: 112 mph (Piazza lined to left for a single. )
Buxton: 111 mph (Buxton lined out to LF (L7). )
Candelario: 109 mph (Candelario homered to center (462 feet). 1 RBI)
    Crow-Armstrong: 107 mph (Crow-Armstrong lined to center for a single. )
Carter: 105 mph (Carter homered to center (444 feet). 1 RBI)
Turang: 104 mph (Turang doubled to right. )
Bregman: 103 mph (Bregman homered to center (458 feet). 1 RBI)
Carter: 107 mph (Carter grounded to right for a single. )
Carter: 112 mph (Carter homered to right (468 feet). 1 RBI)
Dozier: 109 mph (Dozier homered to center (471 feet). 3 RBI)
Frelick: 99 mph (Frelick tripled to center. 1 RBI)
Bregman: 111 mph (Bregman flied out to 3B (F5). )
Palmeiro: 108 mph (Palmeiro homered to center (454 feet). 2 RBI)
Turang: 106 mph (Turang homered to right (416 feet). 1 RBI)
Beltran: 104 mph (Beltran homered to left (394 feet). 1 RBI)

    18 for 20
    13 HRs

The only one that makes no sense to me is 111mph from Bregman that says he flied out to 3B. My first guess is that maybe it was a leaping catch incorrectly flagged as a Fly Ball.

@Rhyno1986_XBL You can absolutely have perfect timing and square up a ball perfectly and hit it directly at a player for an out. The argument YOU’RE making is tired. Your history clearly shows that the vast majority of time perfect perfects go for hits. It’s working as intended.

That is your explanation AND an assumption … because it fits your narrative. Watch the game from frostie and maybe think about if dozen of bunts is real baseball … And if it helps: Go and pretend I work at SDS (Being 5000 miles away 🙂 )
