Did they change diamond quest?

This new one is a pain in the [censored].
-
Explain how you think they changed it
-
They made the stadium Showdowns tougher because they now added Legends to the opposing teams. It makes no difference to me because I play them on Rookie.
But in turn, I thought the mini Showdowns were easier. And so were the regular challenges. So i thought it was easier.
I do think SDS is screwing with the odds though. It seems way more difficult to obtain Ottavino or Jung than it was to get Buehler and Adames.
-
I played the new diamond quest and had a 62% chance for ottavino and Jung after completing the entire board and got neither.
That was enough for me to stop playing diamond dynasty today.
-
The Egg Hunt DQ had legends on both the Royals and A’s as well.

I watched a streamer on GOAT have 85 percent and didn’t get

I’m get it not being 100% guaranteed but when you are more likely then not to get both and walk away empty handed that leaves a real sour taste in my mouth.
Couple that with all the other things they have implemented making the game far less rewarding and player friendly and it’s enough to make me turn it off.
I will still play because I love baseball but DD has turned the corner of the other sports titles and seems to be catering much more so to the younger, higher skilled, live and breathe the game daily crowd. I’m just done being as committed as I have been the past 5 years.
Clearly it’s time for me to mix in some more March to October and Franchise while dramatically scaling back the time and money trap that DD has slowly morphed into. It’s certainly disappointing but there are far worse things in life.

Try being one out away from beating the final stadium, already having 1 of the rare cards, and having the game freeze.
-
Four runs completed and all four over 50%odds and earned neither. Not the way to encourage me to play a mode for 10k stub cards
-
I mean that is better than 50/50 chance with 8 pulls of nothing. No ballin packs either
-
Brutal
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN I play the stadiums on legend, 3 times yesterday i didn't get the epic and it was above 80% each time.
And not once in the ~6 times I played did i get both of the epics. Again, 80%.
-
Uggh. That’s even worse. They are clearly putting the screws to people this year and it stinks. If the goal is to drive people away they are hitting a home run if they keep this current path.
-
Thanks everyone for validating my choice to just ignore a mode that is asking me to gamble with my time in the game for potentially no reward.
I'll take
"If you do this and succeed you will earn the reward".
over
"If you do this and succeed then you might get the reward".
-
Completely understand on that. DQ allows elite players to farm stubs while penalizing average players with a significant chance you won’t walk away with the reward despite playing the whole map.
Besides the above point, the fact they rolled out GOAT difficulty when very few people even play on legend shows you just who they are targeting and catering to at this point.
They effectively improved the game experience for elite players and made it worse for the majority of their player base simultaneously. Very strange decision on their part.
-
DQ has definitely been nerfed, no doubt about it. It was my main way of getting stubs and packs. SDS couldn't have that going on lol.
-
I'm 3 for 3 on getting the epics on All-Star with a 70% chance. I guess they didn't nerf it for my account!
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN I am really really far away from being elite … but I am 7/8 on my last goat stadium challenges … mixture of close to perfect pitching (otherwise Ian Kinsler will burn you
), patient hitting, guess pitching, a bunt here and there and good use of your whole pitching staff and bench.
Maybe we are all „mindset-broken“ … do something (quick) and get rewarded (big). That is not how DQ is set up and since we are having the 6th (if I am right), this is how they wanna have it set up.
Imo this mode is set up to challenge players to play 1-3 difficulty steps above their „normal“ setting. It is a mixture of a few fun challenges with a team of your choice. The more you do, the higher the chances. I had a couple of runs with prox 70% rating on Hall-of-Fame. This is really doable, you gotta play really good tho.
And because the rewards (right now we are speaking of at least 20K stubs per run) are still high, it is an awesome mode to challenge the single player users. Remember: You do not have to play on HOF, but All-Star should possilble for many. Yes, it could be no rare rewards, but I still see it as a fun single player mode with awesome rewards. If the mode was not that hard, the rewards would not be that big (at least from a stub standpoint)
And the biggest advice: If you want the „I play casual, I want a very quick, very easy“-experience and still get the big rewards, this is not the mode for you
