Conquest is not good for pitcher PXP...

While the rulebook states Pitchers can get credit for complete games for rain-shortened games, a game must go at least 6 innings (or 5 1/2 w/ home team winning) before it is official.
Conquest/Miniseason/Event games don't. Ergo, no CG/CGSO stats earned.
Then why do they receive a W or an L if the game isn't considered official?

Because it didn't end in a tie.

With wins, holds and saves they pay more potentially for the whole staff. If you want to P5 a particular SP, vs CPU or RS.

Well...yeah...I get that. But, if a Conquest game is not a simulated nine-inning game, why do they put in ghost runners if a game goes past the third inning? All I'm saying is that if they are going to simulate or treat a three-inning game as a nine-inning game, they should award pitchers complete games and shutouts when they are thrown.

So you think Pitchers should get credit for throwing 9 innings even though they didn't throw 9 innings.
GOT IT!
In addition, you should also get credit for an RBI if you advance the runner from 1st to 3rd.

All I'm saying is that they are treating (simulating) a three-inning game as a complete game. If a pitcher pitches a complete game, they should be awarded a complete game. If a pitcher throws a shutout during that complete game outing, they should get awarded a shutout.
I'm not saying they should get a strikeout for every two strikes they throw, or anything else they didn't complete (like advancing a runner and calling it a run batted in...really? c'mon now).

If you play 3 conquest games and pitch all 9 innings with one pitcher and 0 runs given up, you get 60 PXP from the 3 wins (20 x 3).
If you play a single play vs CPU game and get a CGSO, you get 80 PXP from the QS, CG, SO, and W (10 + 25 + 25 + 20).
So, 60 PXP for conquest compared to 80 PXP for play vs CPU.
If you don’t get the SO, then it’s 60 PXP (3 x 20) vs 55 PXP (10 + 25 + 20).
So, you’re not really losing 50 PXP per game. Every time you give up at least 1 run in a 9 inning stretch, you’re actually better off. And over time, it effectively equalizes out and is at worst negligible.
You’re just ignoring the ability to get an additional 20 PXP every 3 innings instead of every 9 innings from getting more wins.

Is this Scott Steiner math?

@Blind_Bleeder_PSN It's almost a push because you can get 3 wins for 3 three inning games and only 1 win for a 9 inning game. But if you throw complete game shutouts in every 9 inning game you get a little more than you would in 3 three inning game.

Math - I love math. Thank you for the bigger picture.
I accept that comparing three Conquest games to one VS CPU game is almost a push. It is only a 20-point difference (the minimum points that can be earned are in the red). What I don't accept is that a Conquest game (a game played, not a spot simulated) is in and of itself a complete game and the PXP awarded a starting pitcher doesn’t follow suit. To help put this point across even further, when a Conquest game goes past three innings, it is an extra-inning game (a ghost runner is used). Relief pitchers can even get holds and saves in a game.
And yes, I accept that pitchers advance in PXP quicker than hitters.
As I typed in my original post, it is a shame that in Conquest games, PXP isn't treated as a complete game (and a shutout when pitched). The game is programmed to reduce pitchers' stamina to simulate a nine-inning game (not precisely because they'd have a little more stamina if it were exact). It would be nice if they applied the same notion to awarding PXP.
And just for the fun of it (because everyone who knows me knows I love to create spreadsheets), here is a visual representation of the math.
Now...I'm going to go and watch some F1 and take a nap
