Getting called up mini guide/tips
-
Hey guys,
Just wanted to come on here to post about how I got called up to the MLB pretty quickly. For starters this is my first time ever playing MLB the Show. When I first started it took me awhile to learn how to play and such so when I started Road To Glory I was a bit off and not doing great. I simulated far too many games after I completed the high school and college games but then I decided to start playing every game and switched the difficulty to beginner. After I started playing all the games I got called up to triple A fairly quickly and then after some games in triple A I got called up to the Padres about 3/4 into my first season in triple A. My overall is a 70 and the guy above me was a 78 and I still got called up so my advice is to make sure you are playing every game and upgrading your player as much as possible to get the overall up because that’s your main way to get called up. Doesn’t seem like you must get the overall higher then the guy ahead of you but it seems like when you hit certain overalls you will get the call. It doesn’t seem like it matters what round you get drafted or how well you do in the combine because I was a 5th round pick and the combine went poorly because I was still learning the controls. This is a long post but I just wanted to explain the whole story so to summarize. Switch the difficulty to beginner, play all the games, and upgrade overall as you can. If you are killing it in the games odds are you will get the call in no time. I know this may not seem like much help but when I first started there was a lot of uncertainty and I wanted to post this to hopefully give people an idea or some ease about it.

I can also confirm that draft position has little to no effect on your getting called up. I’ve had a 14th round and 20th round position player get called up in their first season. The main factors really seem to be overall rating being higher than the highest person at your position on your team. And consistently good play. Definitely don’t sim large quantities of games.

I have as a two-way player only put points in your pitching. On my two way players I have done three now that have gone from AA Somerset, straight to the Yankees without any AAA stop.
