Sac Hit For Easter Egg Program
-
I've seen various people say they've gotten it and some say they haven't, but I have done a sacrifice bunt that went for a hit, a sacrifice bunt that simply advanced the runner. I showed bunt in advance so it wasn't considered a drag bunt, etc. -- I have still yet to get credit for it. I've done it all in Mini Seasons. It's getting beyond frustrating. Is there any trick I'm missing to get the credit for it? If not SDS needs to fix this.

A sacrifice bunt that went for a hit is not a thing. That's just a bunt. That's why the "sac hit" thing is so stupid. There is no such thing as a "sac hit". If it's a hit, it, by definition, can not be a sacrifice.

The batter needs to advance the runner but the batter also needs to get tagged put.

As I mentioned, in Mini Seasons, I did both types of bunts -- one where the runner advanced to second, but the batter was out and one where the batter was safe (since the term "hit" was in the clue). I got credit for neither. I also, for good measure, bunted a runner from 2nd to 3rd. Every time I squared up in advance. Even the announcer mentioned the sacrifice. The only thing I haven't done yet is a sac fly. I don't understand why some people are getting credit for this and others are not. Again, I'll ask, does anyone have any insights or advice on how to make this work?
-
Are you sending the runner on the sac bunt attempts? I'm wondering if it has to do with that. Maybe either he is supposed to be running or not supposed to be running and only one way is correct in how they coded it. (Either SHOULD count but it's possible it's coded funny).
Just a thought -
I just did it in one shot. Leadoff triple with Travis Bazzana, bunted with Yount, first basemen threw home, Bazzana was safe and Yount was credited with an rbi.
For the record, the actual definition of a "sacrifice bunt (hit)" : In baseball, a sacrifice bunt (also called a sacrifice hit) is a batter's act of deliberately bunting the ball, before there are two outs, in a manner that allows a baserunner to advance to another base. The batter is almost always put out, and hence sacrificed (to a certain degree that is the intent of the batter), but sometimes reaches base on an error or fielder's choice. In that situation, if runners still advance bases, it is still scored a sacrifice bunt instead of the error or the fielder's choice.

@Finn_Scotus_MLBTS I did not send the runner on any of the occasions
-
@pharley_MLBTS I just got it while bunting over from second to third, tagged out at first, and I DID send the runner. You may have to. You shouldn't have to, but that means absolutely nothing. It also showed as a sacrifice in the game log.
-
It’s not that hard at all. Just do a sac bunt.I got my sac bunt the first time I tried it because it’s a sac bunt and not very hard. Everyone gets credit when it’s a sac bunt, don’t blame the game if you don’t know what a sac bunt is.
-
Yeah, I was wondering if they set it up like that. Thanks for the info
-
@tear4eddy_PSN if they set it up so you have to send the runner that could be confusing to some. It still should have counted whether he had the runner 'in motion' or not and that is a coding error. Not a huge deal but makes it not so straightforward as it seems. No need to judge someone trying to navigate that
-
I got mine but didn't send the runner or get tagged out, Sac bunt to the 1st basemen and they ran to tag the base and it counted for me
-
@tear4eddy_PSN Um, I think it's pretty clear I know what a sac bunt is. And I've done half a dozen of them and not gotten credit in the Easter Egg program. So save the condescension and offer an actual solution. If you read my actual post, you'll see I've done every permutation of the sac bunt and gotten zero credit. Some people are getting the credit and some are not. So, yeah, I blame the game not my extensive knowledge of baseball and its terminology.

They can't offer an actual solution,
Have a runner on 1st and/or 2nd
square to bunt before the pitcher starts his delivery
Get the bunt down
Get thrown out at 1st with the runners safely advancing
That's it,and you say you are, so they can't offer anything. -
Took me multiple tries before it finally counted, on a bunt by Lindor. Seems like it's a glitched mission.

If it would be glitched, nobody would get it. I did mine on the first try: Runner at 1st, batters squares to bunt (no drag bunt!!!), lays it down, gets thrown out, runner advances …
-
@YOSHI24_XBL yes I just pulled off first try as well! And was nervous cause never attempted bunt before. Jeter on first, Boggs batting and held Y just a lil before ball got there and worked! Announcer made sacrifice comment as well. Didn’t send runner.

Per thread on main post regarding egg missions people are figuring out it may have to do with the height of the players...
Shorter players needed.
This one's definitely interesting. -
I'm pretty sure I got the Sac bunt from the New Threads Santander
-
If it's short players needed, AS Mantle was on 1st and NL Jackie did the bunt for me.Jackie is 5'11" so maybe the batter has to be under 6' ?
