I'm old. Losing it.

Any 40-year-olds out there that are still hitting the ball?
-
I'm 62 and still play this game. So, yes, I can still hit the ball in the game. Do I play on the hardest settings? No, not even close. But, the point is that this video game has a myriad of options where you can strike the right balance of difficulty to ease to have the experience that you desire.
I don't get this "whoa is me" philosophy. This plus other people chronically complaining about how and why they cannot get every reward the game offers. I am totally convinced that if one cares only about getting all the rewards, there are ways outside of Diamond Dynasty (which is after all a contest format) where you can earn them all if you are willing to set the easiest difficulty settings.
As I wrote elsewhere, MLB 25 is the first time that I did not touch the default sliders in order to achieve what I think is a properly accurate stealing environment. I focused my tokens in RTTS on basestealing and speed initially and was able to steal at around an 85 to 90% success rate with the sliders in their default settings.
That's just one example of many.
Losing it at 40? No man, you're not losing anything. Just investigate the sliders and overall difficulty levels and find the balance that makes the game enjoyable for you.

I’m almost 40 and accept my eye hand coordination isn’t what it used to be. I also feel like I’m “battling the elements” somewhat on Switch with the subpar performance and slideshow frame rates. I accept my destiny of playing on Rookie difficulty and staying offline. Having plenty of fun!

55, have been playing Sony baseball since the 90s, started with the 989 games.

Yes.....

I’m 46. Some days are better than others.

Thank you so much for that response and made me feel quite better -
@PAinPA_PSN
It's tough for me to hit that. I have a little late and see on my TV which makes it even worse. Thanks so much for the response bro. -
I'm 61 and two years ago I had to switch to directional hitting. Just couldn't hit with zone anymore.
-
@Real-bulldops_XBL I'm. 44 and still playing the game.
-
I'm 63yo and still really enjoy the game. Also had to give up on the zone hitting which makes me not as competitive in online play but still really enjoy a good ranked game with a evenly matched opponent. It's not about how good you are it's about how much fun your having.

Thank you so much for that response and made me feel quite betterCool! Thanks, man!

I’m 45. Without question the brain doesn’t tell the fingers to move as fast as they used to. The game is still fun but it’s a bit depressing.
Oh, also it reminds me how bad my vision is.

@Real-bulldops_XBL some guys switched to timing instead of zone hitting . Considering it myself. Seems like I’m rewarded more on “timing” doesn’t make sense considering moving the PCI is harder than just timing up the swing. A lot of my PPs are line outs on zone hitting. I understand that happens in real life . Perfectly hit balls are gonna be outs sometimes but on timing I really feel like I get more hits off perfect perfects. Just more rare bc you aren’t controlling the pci at all

- and still hit the ball in the game, still go to the batting cage in real life too. You could use directional hitting as others have said.

@jisaksen2422_PSN
I feel the same way. A little slow. SMH -
@Shua2168_MLBTS
Cool I'm gonna go to practice mode and check out timing. I never tried it before. -
@Real-bulldops_XBL I just turned 38 in March and I'm still hitting. Playing on legend batting with fastball and offspeed pitch speeds at 7 using the stride/timing mechanism. I still strike out a lot, but I have my share of good games as well. Just depends on the pitcher. Still a sucker for a good slider.

I love "old guy" threads. I'm 60... Oofff. Still love to play. I do wish I could see how the game would play for me if I was 20. Probably still wouldn't make WS or go 10-0...
