Weekend Classic review by a mid player

Background on me - I’m currently a .500 player (60-60) in RS. I qualified for the Gold 1 bracket (700-799). I’m a .260 online hitter. I used to be competitive in my younger days (Made WS consistently) but understand my skill has diminished over time & that’s ok…Father time is undefeated.
Going into this I wasn’t expecting to go 6-0. I figured 3-3 would be where I’d end up. No…I went 1-5 and the games weren’t close. Everyone I played was simply WAY better than me, Plain & simple. These guys were so good that I don’t think any of them even swung at one ball in any of the games. Most of these games I was mercied. But nobody cheated or did anything shady, They were just better.
So going forward I’ll still participate, Just not expect to win anything. And if I win just one game again, Well that’s 25 packs which could contain a great pull. To all my fellow mid players, Give it a shot!

I’ve been playing less online multiplayer games every year, and this year is the fewest I’ve played by far. Just 7 ranked games total, zero events, zero BR, zero co-op. I got up to the mid 500’s before the Classic started, but I just don’t have the desire to play it. Maybe your post gave me the motivation to hop on tomorrow and give it a rip

I haven't played any online yet this year. I haven't been able to get to where I have a team I felt I could compete with. I'm not great to begin with so I'll just end up playing a few at some point when I have a team I really like.

21-7 in the gold II rankings. I am 1-1 so far scoring 7 runs in each game. Both games having 18+ hits. Just can’t hit home runs or knock my runners in scoring position. Those will be my only two games that I will be playing as I am heading to Arizona to get married. Well worth the time off from this game

That does not sound fun... What do you think SDS should do to help make this Weekend Classic a better experience for everyone? -
@xElRojo44x-_MLBTS I don’t think they need to change it. In any sport there are winners & losers. That’s what these weekend leagues are for - Rewarding players based on how well they performed under the pressure of the playoffs so to speak. Just because I’m not a very good player doesn’t mean SDS should need to redesign the whole thing to make me win more. I just wanted to share my experience for other mid players as well.

I have played 4, won the first 2 and the next weren't even close. I'm bronze as I haven't played much online. I used to be ok at this game but it feels like I only get hits with perfect timing. I swear my last game had close to 20 good with the ball in the pci and I get nothing. Pretty [censored] lame. Guess I just suck.

You are definitely not the only one frustrated by this. I have read similar experiences like yours. However, I do like the idea of this tournament and hope they work out the issues so lower ranked users do not have to face WS users right off the jump. If you win, the competition should get stronger, but not in the first game. I also hate the idea of WS users dropping down in competition in order to get the rewards easier (if that is the case), like a reddit user claimed. -
