Slow reaction time in the outfield!
-
Hello folks.
I’ve started playing 25. Happy overall. One thing I’ve noticed. It seems as though the outfielders are very slow to react to line drives and pop flies compared to previous versions. I’ve never had issues chasing down balls hit to the outfield in the past. This year almost everything is dropping. It’s as if they are initially stunned and then their closing speed is very slow. Balls are dropping and getting to the gaps for extra bases that would normally be caught. On the flip side, the CPU is tracking my hits better than ever. Any advice? Thanks!

I agree. At first I thought it was the power creep effect (meaning lower overall players relative to what we’re used to last year), but I’m wondering if something is up with how their response times are programmed. The game plays very different in fielding and hitting this year than last year. Lots of fun and challenging, but definitely need to adjust and get better.

My outfielders catch almost everything. Yes I give up some gappers but that's baseball. I think fielding is fine .

This was a change implemented this year, putting an emphasis on the player's Reaction attribute. This will separate the really good outfielders from everyone else.

I wish it applied to the CPU too. Bronze players have no issue playing like hall of fame calibre gold glovers while my diamonds are stuck in mud for 2 seconds before moving.
