Closer Help - Long Road to show

Okay, I'm not complaining really, just wondering if I'm messing up somehow. I started a Closer with Pirates. I started 54 overall. Was selected first round - 15th pick. ERA is 1.45. I've played every game and having fun. The issue is I'm still in AAA after 2 years. OVL is 71 with Bednar over me - 85. But I'm 3rd on relievers. Going 3rd year still in AAA. Is it just extremely slow because of closer? Not joking, I've played every game, no simming. Any ideas? I don't want to mess with sliders because experience gets knocked. All Star setting.

Where are you Per/9 stats? I haven't tried a closer yet, but for my starting pitchers ramping up that category gets me a promotion very quickly.
