It’s definitely a good bet that Ted is the live series collection
He hasn't been in the game since 2020, but even then his 99 card was a World Series reward so not many people really got to use the best version of him.

We do still have the Legend pack question mark that they havent shown yet. They showed Ted Williams with the 20th Anniversary but nothing on the other one.

When asked if the trailer showed all the new Legends that would be available, Ashley just said on the stream, "We have reveals up our sleeve throughout the rest of this week" so we might have a few surprises. One of the other devs even chimed in afterwards with " And maybe even after launch" so we should still have some new names to be revealed.

Yes.
Then I don't want to be right..
To be fair, the two Teds are #1 and #2 on that list for me. But my childhood was spent being a Simmons fan. I never saw Williams play.
Hands down Williams was a better player in every aspect but even that is not enough to overcome the nostalgia from my childhood.

I do not think that Ted will get an additonal card on launch … So it‘s got to be a „bigger one“ … I still stick with Bonds and A-Rod
… and maybe Ichiro Btt … I was really excited for Ted, but I was also excited about Pendleton and Berkman … This is big news and a really good job

I am fairly certain there is going to be one more major name revealed who will headline the big collection, but it could most definitely be Ted Williams.
Over the years, the player who ended up being the primary collection reward has had "lesser" cards available at launch that were either available through preorder packs or entirely free.*
2020 - Mickey Mantle: 86 Rookie
2022 - Randy Johnson: 88 Takashi
2023 - Derek Jeter: 86 Postseason*Might seem redundant, but it will take months for most casual players to collect every LS card so this is their way of offering everyone an attainable version right out the gate.

Today, they made Ted Williams the star and talked A LOT on the stream about how it was a great day for Red Sox fans.
If there's one more reveal, wouldn't it follow suit that it would be a Williams contemporary that furthers the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry?

Even as a Yankee hater who thinks they don't need any more Legends, this is perfect.
And DiMaggio's career kind of mirrored Ted's career so it would make sense to get them both this year.
