Online Franchise

Interesting take, but there are 30 teams. I guess it's possible to have 30 friends come together for a league, but I don't see it as being feasible, and certainly of such low odds that to have constraints built into Franchise to facilitate it being an acceptable trade off.
This is all the more so when one adds the reality that there is already an option in DD for a friendly private league. Frankly, it would seem to me that the way to go on this would be to expand that existing option to add GM level control for one team and facilitate trades and free agent signings. Do that, and leave Franchise as an offline mode.

All it takes is someone to create a money league with 30 teams, a group of friends trade all their best players to one team and someone tries to sue SDS for not implementing an anti-unfair trade measure into the game.
Yes this is partially satire but it is 2025...

They did mention it, they said it wasn't in the show 25. they didn't say anything about custom leagues but that will probably be in the dd stream this Thursday

“People” don’t. Online franchise was by far the least-played mode when it was removed.

@SaveFarris_PSN In this context @bri_25's post reads as 'some people' rather than claiming 'most' or 'all' people. As in there are people who want online franchise. I reckon the statement has merit here, especially given that Ashley addressed it specifically in the stream in response to all of the questions in the chat.

She probably addressed it in the stream to stop the influx of questions asking about it, which would have distracted from the actual questions that people have. Those Twitch streams are full of the same nonsense every week. You'll see 100 "Barry Bonds?" or "online franchise?" in a row before getting to a real question.

@Red_Ted_is_back_PSN I doubt there are enough people willing to play multiple seasons online to sink any resources into that. It’s hard enough to get people to play 10 games in online leagues.

NCAA made online dynasty with over 100s of colleges. MLB could have done the same. The whole point of the game is to play with your friends and you are not able to do that in the franchise mode still. Same thing year after year with no change. Why can every other game do it but not MLB??

@SiGrin8_PSN yeah exactly so true, even NBA 2k who is such a money grab company has all the modes and never removed anything, just because they wanted to focus on something that brings them all the money.

@PriorFir4383355_XBL connected franchise is huge in madden, it would be huge in MLB. I don’t see how it hurts the game, if you don’t like it then don’t play it, but connected franchise with a farm system etc would be dope. MLB has never made an in depth franchise mode, that’s why it sucks or had bad reviews. Plain and simple, all they care about is DD and their [censored] micro transactions

Moreover, we don't want the rules of Franchise amended to placate the constant bitching and moaning that we see every single day from the people who play Diamond Dynasty and whom never run out of reasons to yell and gripe!

@Ginsu3_PSN I was so upset when they got rid of it. All these devs are nerds who know nothing about baseball besides that stupid card game they all play. Franchise is dead in this game and they’re abandoning it more and more every year. Never seen a more recycled game than this

@PriorFir4383355_XBL bc many of you don’t want it? Good reason! Some of us like playing with our friends online in a relaxed franchise. I guess ur opinion is more important than everyone else’s…. lol bc “a great deal of us don’t want it” clown! Then don’t play it!!! Doesn’t mean they should remove it for the people who want to play online with their friends.
