FEATURE PREMIER - RTTS 2/20 Grades

D+
The entire stream is just really going over minor changes that we should’ve had years ago. The graphics literally look like PS1. It is so bad. The only positive is that you can choose your school with a lot of people that are from those areas would like. But this still looks like something that Madden and 2K have had For years.
They make a big deal about these tokens. It’s really not that special.
-
Not gonna watch it. Without it being connected to DD, I have no desire to play the mode.
-
@bjd10048_MLBTS The graphics looked even worse in this video; that scene on the bus was atrocious. There was a guy with a fade, and you could literally count the pixels, like on the PS2. The entire art team needs replacing.

Via @TheScann9579_XBL on twitter, he sums it up very well:
*My thoughts after the RTTS stream today.
I like the changes and plan to play it, especially more than I have before. However, the stream made me somewhat lessen my expectations.
This feels like the most change we've seen in the mode in YEARS. However, with this being a mainly pre-draft experience + most Amateur things (bats, teams, etc.) being limited to RTTS, you're only gonna see these things so often in the game.
In my opinion, it would've been cool to see at least some things make their way outside of just RTTS like the metal bats or playing with the teams (even if generic rosters) in Exhibition games.
So, I'm excited to try it. I think it'll make RTTS a more replayable experience. However, if most of the minor league/MLB experience is the same as before, there'll be some disappointment there. It's been SO similar at its core for a while now, and I'd love to see the regular dynamic of the mode change.*

@jake98833_PSN that’s exactly what I’m referring to, there was a guy with a blue shirt on the bus when they were showing the college team and it legitimately looked like someone from a blitz football game I remember playing on my PlayStation one
-
I don't see what you guys are talking about with the graphics, they look fine to me
-
@sbchamps17_NSW you just be blind or slow. Or both.
-
I Chromecast on my 4k TV and didn't see any issues with the graphics either
-
@sbchamps17_NSW agreed. They look perfectly fine. Comparing the graphics to a PS2 game or PS1 game is comical.
-
@bjd10048_MLBTS I didn’t hear any content creators complaining about the graphics so it must be that your blind
-
The graphics definitely don't look like a PS2 game.
However, they do look pretty much identical to last year and even the year before that. Many expected a more significant visual upgrade with last gen consoles no longer being supported.
-
i watched to get my free drop packs then shut it off. I know what to expect, new legends, a few tweeks to game play, and the same garbage engine to play on and same pooptastic servers
-
Some of you must be youngsters who never actually played a PS1 game. The graphics are not as "next gen" as we all want, but to say this "literally look like PS1" is laughable hyperbole. Even if you're using "literally" the way the internet likes to use it.

People who rely on the game's success to maintain engagement, boost viewership, and increase revenue wouldn't bash the game's weakest point, the graphics. It's really not surprising the game has to do well for them to do well, and most of them probably have contracts anyway, since they appeared in MLB 19.

One would think that, it would be like biting the hand that feeds you.
However a lot of these guys were very vocal trashing the game last year, a lot of what you can expect ppl to do is out the window these days. -
I bought the PS5 to see the most current technology and graphics in gaming. So I expect as much in the games I play on it. The Show has always looked great, but it’s time to take the next leap and blow me away graphically and have extremely responsive game play.

Since 21 I did not get really involved in RTTS … Regarding the feature premiere I get the feeling that this mode improves .. Is it enough for me to invest lots of time? No.
The gameplay elements (cutoffs, blocking, baserunning) keep me invested. Maybe I give this mode a shot in early 2026.
The best thing: No Caps in DD, because it helps balancing (aka no more switch-hitting demon caps to start off the year) and making the power creep more fun.
I grade the premiere with a solid 5/10.
