Play RTTS. It rains 80% of the time it seems. Sometimes, you get a rain delay but that's about it I think.

Rain delays in a video game is utterly pointless. Folks, think about it deeper. You really want to play a game only to have it force you into a lengthy pause against your will? If this was ever done, the outrage would be universal. Frankly, I strongly suspect people proposing this are just stirring the pot, hoping SDS might do it.
They won't, and for very obvious reasons!
Want a "rain delay?" OK, next time you see rain in your virtual game, hit the pause button and simulate going to the locker room by making a bathroom break. Return to your game and unpause and resume play!

@PriorFir4383355_XBL you do make a fair point.

They should add the ground's crew putting the tarp...and put the message of the lenght of the rain delay like it is now. Would be nice to have spectators wearing rain coats..or umbrellas .when it's raining .

This has been a huge part of baseball forever but has been really lacking in recent games. It would be great to weather effect games much more such as seeing rain delays and makeup games. I understand if this is not possible, but it would a bonus to see the weather vary depending on the region.
As far as I know, the game is affected by weather settings in that it's harder to get XBH because of the change in atmosphere. I suppose you could have a game pause very briefly, then make the pitcher affected by the rain delay coming back in. Maybe that's already happening, though (the pitcher being affected). I've never seen it, though I don't usually play with rainy conditions.
-
Bah, I'd be ok with a little cut scene of the grounds crew rolling out the tarp...maybe a dude falling over under it. Then Boog going "and with that rain delay, we'll be back right after this", fade to black, comeback and its a little cutscene of the crew rolling the tarp back up and Boog going "Ok and after that delay, it looks like we're gonna get back to action here". Adds an additional 45 seconds max. Just something for the immersion

About the only video game component would be a "pause" that would force you to switch your pitchers. However, in real life, that generally only happens when the rain delays last for an hour or longer.
-
@PriorFir4383355_XBL Not so much an extended rain delay, per se, but, maybe something at the beginning of the game, like on the calendar. Picture it: you go to play the game, you get a message:
Today's game has been postponed due to rain. Makeup tomorrow as a double-header. Or something like that.
But I know that's WAY too advanced for a video game lol. NBA 2K still hasn't figured out how to make their schedules to include canceled games, so I have little hope lol
-
Yeah, I could see that. But, another complication would be the game code would have to know that the stadium planned for play is a dome or a retractable roof, and therefore not eligible for the delay. I could see double headers being created toward the end of the season as a result.
If SDS could pull this code off properly, including rescheduling a suspended game, then I could see some rainouts making sense. But, that's a lot of code logic and SDS's track record for revamping their code without bugs isn't very good.

Or Seattle!More to the critical point, you can now add Miami and Arizona to the growing list of such retractable roof stadiums. There are only 30 teams in MLB, and that's five of them that don't rain delays or cancellations.

This was actually done in MLB 2k8 in franchise mode. Yes, games will start and rain and progress worse. Then you get an animation with the umpire s showing them get together and calling off the game. It would be remade in your franchise as a double header but it never really I guess took off of the show. It was one of the cool animations to see. Are you going to play a full game in the rain or is it be called? That was something you actually wanted afford to
