This has to be a joke. This can’t be Ps5. No way we are getting the show 21.4

Don't worry, it's a PS5 Pro "Enhanced" edition..

It is visible on the PS Store & PS APP. They uploaded these photos today

Yeah... these look terrible. I mean, I can barely see the shadowing under Bohm's tricep, and the shoes don't even have laces.
Jesus. What exactly do you want, people? Please quantify your disappointment. How can Ketel Marte look more like Ketel Marte?
Until we see it in motion, we're really not going to know if there are noticeable improvements. I guess people think complaining for the sake of complaining makes them seem edgy... honestly, just makes them sound like whiny, entitled little tw*ts.

A rare insightful comment. Not only do we not know where they came from, more importantly we don't know the full custody of the screen captures.
A lot of very simple to do things can reduce the quality of digital images. Until we see screen captures directly issued by SDS on a site controlled by SDS, and for the latest consoles, then we don't know what the game will look like on the modern consoles.
It's just that simple.

Beep bop boop

While I wouldn't say I don't care about graphics, I'm more interested in game play improvements, content , new modes etc.
-
It's a video game. I have rarely seen video games where people look photographic. And I agree with the comment that it's the gameplay that's most important.
-
Hi! My name is <insert name here> and I got my hopes too high again even though I have been disappointed year after year. Someday I will learn to keep my expectations in check when it comes to this game.

I want to be able to pick Livvy Dunne out of the crowd.

The game play is far more important than the overall graphics quality. That said, we have no idea what the chain of custody is on these screen captures. It is very easy to process a digital image through Photoshop and other kinds of software to reduce the quality of the image.
Until we see SDS release screen captures, we don't know what the new game will look like -- period!
-
These were issued by SDS just on the PS APP. They control what gets released. It could look better on their site, but what they release and what it looks like on the PS5 won't look the same.

They've gotta be sh!tting us with those screengrabs...
That being said, they could be somewhat unpolished images, tons of sharing can actually degrade images over time as well so there is that to consider as well.
Until we get gameplay vids...maybe a splash of reservation on judgment. Even though SDS doesn't have teh greatest track record
-
this is a joke right? No way those are next gen graphics. Let's wait and see when we get official footage. But cannot believe if it's next gen only we're getting these old graphics.
-
Again... what do people expect to see, here?
Let's assume these are actually from the new game (and since they've been posted nowhere except for a coming soon placeholder in the PlayStation app and not in an official marketing release from SDS, that remains unconfirmed)... what about these screenshots is so unacceptable? Is the style line shaved into Marte's eyebrow too thick? Is the shadow line from the bill of his batting helmet somehow unrealistic? Maybe the tan stitching on Stott's glove doesn't quite pop enough off of the black?
What do people expect that a "next gen" game would reveal to them in a static screenshot?

something like this -

@LuvMyXBOX_XBL, I see... so if Marte had freckles and the background was blurred out more? Where's the detail on the bat?
You know there's plenty of video of that game online, and it's player models really aren't any better. It's a bit more sharp, but MLBTS is much better on animating faces, and the player animations aren't as good as MLBTS. It appears, to me, much more jerky and stutter prone, especially on defense.
That picture is also from a trailer cinematic.

Expecting SDS to do something good for MLB The Show is like being a Bills fan

lol no it's not. have you seen Pro Spirits graphics vs the show's graphics? there is no comparison which is 'next gen' and which is not.
