@bjd10048_MLBTS this is a pretty bad take , gamepass made MLB the show a super value, since all consoles share DD I could purchase the switch version for on the go and the have the Xbox version for home play. In fact I would even purchase the Deluxe upgrade for the GP version.
Now I'll be honest I'm not buying either. The game has already become a HUGE money grab at least there was some value in the entry point but that's all but gone.
That DD version is likely gonna be 179.99 in Canada based on the pricing of the WWE game that went on pre order today. So no gamepass is a real kick in the teeth

Not a chance. I am retired and I value my toys and would not consider myself "poors".
I also appreciate trying to get some value for my money where I can so that I can afford those toys.

Losing Gamepass is not a good thing if you play online. You will be losing a ton of casuals who would only play because it’s on gamepass. I wouldn’t be surprised if it does drop on GamePass on a later date though.

Losing Gamepass people.
Losing Last Gen people.
Can't wait for the complaints that it's taking to long to find a match up because SDS may have cut the amount if people that play this game in half.
Not a smart business decision to alienate that many gamers.
All that think this is a good idea; don't come on here complaining that there isn't any new Legends because SDS WILL lose ALOT of revenue from this decision.

There's no proof this was ever an issue. Games like FC25 aren't on Gamepass and are next gen only and have server issues way worse than MLB.
There's no benefit to the game not being on Gamepass from the consumer side

As someone who doesn't really care that much about the legends or atleast legends variety I would be way more happy with money spent on better servers or some idea that leads towards better connections.
I'd imagine sds weighed the pros and cons of this move and have the data to back it up. Most users on the show forums are prob pretty dedicated to the game.. People just getting it on gamepass for free are prob not the normal user that posts here
I got wwe game in ps monthly games for free and never play it and will never buy in the future and I never even tried to play online. Same for the nhl game which I do play franchise mode but not online... And wouldn't buy it. If I don't get wwe or nhl for free next year it won't impact me and I'm not on those forums.
If trade legends for better connections and smoother gsmeplay honestly

Why does a PS4 version mean that the PS5 version must be held back? I grew up with older systems and I don't recall that being the case with crossover years for SNES/N64, PS1/2, 2/3, etc. The newer system had a clearly better game that was coveted. More importantly, if PS6 is released in '27/'28, does that mean Sony will hold back for another 5+ years into that system's existence?

@xRatedGProdigyx_PSN Right! Both EA & 2K were able to upgrade the current gen experience while copy & pasting the game on last gen. As of now it's just the community's scapegoat (although I won't lie this kinda does boost the theory they were mandated to have the same game across all consoles)

@xRatedGProdigyx_PSN Because it is software you gotta code …. If you improve the game significantly (I suppose that will be the case), you have to put in a lot of ressources to make the game still work on „lower platforms“ for the same system. That is a tradeoff you gotta do. They have to invest into a lot of systems and they put in the work for those systems they benefit the most of (also an assumption, this is a business).
And yes, sometimes you leave people behind doing business decisions … In the early eras (you mentioned SNES, N64…) that was always the case. It sometimes gave people a cause to upgrade (or not) -
I don't understand why they couldn't make 2 separate versions with no crossplay . That way you get more revenue.

Alright as far as Gamepass goes…It totally depends on what kind of gamer you are. My brother in law is someone who likes to unlock all the achievements on as many games as he can. So Gamepass is a HUGE benefit to a player like him….Now me personally - I buy The Show, College Football and COD every year and that’s pretty much all I play. So Gamepass would be a waste of money for me personally.

Well, I can't agree. I actually enjoyed saving a few bucks on the game last year.
I used to be on of those who said "Gamepass, yeah whatever". But the truth be known it has saved me quite a lot of money just in the last few months (MS Flight Sim and Indiana Jones)
How is that Indiana Jones? Ive heard great reviews so far....just waiting for it to be on PS5.
