What if I live in San Diego. Is SDS a local business then?
I wouldn’t exactly call them struggling though.

Except struggling to have a game play properly.

People want to spend hundreds on digital cards that will be worthless in less than a year....go ahead.
I’m buying REAL cards. Picked up an Autographed Acuña today and looking to get more. I’m building my collection to pass down to my kids when I’m gone.
That to me is a way better investment than digital cards in a game that belongs in a garbage dump.
-
If you're in a position to spend real money to buy fake currency so you can have digital cards in a video game with a short life cycle, go for it.
I'm not in that position.

I could drop $500 a week without blinking if I wanted to. But NO WAY I’m supporting this trash game and garbage company that can’t even respond to it’s consumers.
Why would I? So I can take my players that I spent hundreds of real dollars on into a game only for the game to be in more control of them than me?? I’m currently playing a few conquest games a day with a team of players I like and got for free....that’s all I’m doing this year.

Stop spending stimulus money on stubs.
You should not do that because
- The game is broken
- It makes the game worse for everyone else b/c it causes inflation, and
- Most notably, it is an irresponsible way to manage your money during a time of crisis. Spend your stimulus on struggling local businesses, not a video game.
Now I'm against people spending the stimulus on stubs. Putting that out there now, I don't advise anyone to do it, nor would I do it myself. That being said...
OP you have no right telling other what to do with their money. People gonna spend what they want.

I'm in the position where I could, but A. Don't want the Wife's wrath. B. Know it's incredibly easy to obtain already.

The only logical explanation is they're being adversely impacted by the whole world, you know, melting around us. The content was probably created and packaged months ago and is just being pushed to us on a scheduled timeline.
There's no way they're not working on at least the fielding, especially considering how much bad press they're getting via the players tourney. For now, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that they'll eventually turn this into a game that's ready to be released.

Yeah you're not wrong there.
Even with the dumpster fire that was 18, we at least had several SDS employees actively engaging with the community.
Crickets so far this year.

Most frustrating part about it for me. It’s like they took their money and ran. Now they are just putting out weak content and horrible patches to make it look like they still care.

I have 2/3s of the 1909-11 T206 set complete. And have some really rare backs. Been selling cards for 30 years. Now I only buy and sell Pre WW2 baseball cards. I also sell vintage toys from the late 70s and 80s. Today’s cards are risky long term as an investment. But in the short term are a good way to make money.
And I still buy stubs when I want. I like the Show. Don’t mind spending some money on it. Been a baseball fan for over 40 years.
I’ll say it again. Instead of judging people for buying something they want, even if you don’t understand it, who gives a ****? It’s my money. I’m literally not worried about how anybody spends their money. Also, just because some people buy stubs doesn’t mean they don’t have their finances in order. Shouldn’t have to flex on a video game forum to get the point across that buying stubs isn’t a big deal to everyone.
I respect the no money spent crowd. I really do. But my time is worth more than grinding all year for something. You think it’s free, but your time is worth more.

Of all the sports, Him, Tom Brady, LeBron James.
Everything else 10-20 years from now won’t be worth half of what it’s going for.
I do like the fact they have got creative with cards and really are doing a good job with only releasing certain amounts. That will help.
But yeah, Trout’s stuff is going to be great down the road.

With current sports cards you can treat it just like the market in the show. When players are hot, their cards sell for more. And if you buy early before players break out and guess right, you can make a lot of money.
If you want to buy something that will hold its value (and probably continue to go up) , and pass to your kids. You either buy 1909 T206 baseball cards, 33 & 34 Goudey, and 1952 Topps.

I don't like the fact there are so many releases. We have High tek, museum, chrome, chrome sapphire, gold label, ect.
