If you got the game in PS Plus, how did that work out for you?

Worked out great for me. I won't get all the cards, but I have about 75 percent of them, according to Showzone (which I discovered this year and made use of when I was collecting the Live series). As a Giants fan, I'm really sorry I missed the Rickwood thing and I'm hoping they bring it back for the Forever program, but I've had a great time. I thought the late start would be quite a handicap for collecting cards, but it really wasn't. And for the first time, I did no money spent and I found I could do it and still enjoy the game.

Rickwood Field, where the Giants and Cardinals played a game in midseason to honor the field, the oldest professional ballpark in the U.S. It was where many Negro League players including Willie Mays once played. Tragically, Willie died just two days before the game.

I never thought I’d see in my lifetime a Major League Baseball game being played on the very field where I played baseball as a teenager It has been 75 years since I played for the Birmingham Black Barons at Rickwood Field, and to learn that my Giants and the Cardinals will play a game there and honor the legacy of the Negro Leagues and all those who came before them is really emotional for me. We can’t forget what got us here and that was the Negro Leagues for so many of us."

Did you feel like the late start hurt your progress in the game? In my case, the answer is really no. I conquered most of the programs with a couple of exceptions that I haven't been able to finish because I'm not good at everything in the game. (Showdowns, for one.) I also wish I hadn't missed the Rickwood stuff since I'm a Giants fan. (And Willie's death just days before shook the dickens out of Giants fans.)

I got The Show 24 on PS Plus too, so it worked out fine since I didn’t have to spend any money. I wouldn’t pay for a broken game like this, though. I'll prefer playing pure baseball so I don’t care about the card mechanics or features aimed at getting kids to spend their parents’ money.
