What new card?
-
I'll echo everyone else's question... What new card?
Okay, I googled. A new Topps card is comings. But having a Topps card does not give SDS the rights to use Bonds in the game.

I love how everyone is crying for Bonds…Then when they realize he wasn’t a switch hitter they go….oh.
-
Is it a new card? From what I read, it sounds like it's just autographs on reprinted cards.

SDS has an agreement with Topps. That's a door open.
Listen or view the latest KDJTV podcast. (Link.) It spells out in depth with the situation and Bonds' history with video games. Another point: in the podcast, he mentions that posted this on Twitter about Bonds: "Hold up he might be in The Show". Topps LIKED his post.
Here's a link to that post: https://x.com/kdjTV611/status/1871246023068418464

All the earlier Legends (Ruth, Cy, Mantle, Jackie, etc.) were never in the Player's Association either because it didn't exist yet. Bonds's withdrawal from the MLBPA and hesitance to license his NIL doesn't bode well for his chances over ever joining The Show, but if this news is any indication, nothing is impossible forever (except the Mariners winning a World Series. SUCK ON THAT, GRIFFEY!)

You need to understand that he will NEVER be in this game,
Topps liked a post on Twitter that said he could be in the game.

My only fear would be that obtaining his likeness rights would be so expensive that they would need to cut 10 other legends out so that they stay within their budget because it seems pretty obvious that they have a budget for likeness rights.

Or raise the price of the game to cover it. That was the first thing that crossed my mind. I hope I'm very wrong, though.

This could open up so many possibilities. You could choose to use PED's in Road to the Show or even deal PED's as a side hustle. In DD, you could add PED modifiers to cards to improve their stats. The world would be our oyster.
