so, Luis severino signed with the a's
-
weird. just weird. and he's with them for the next 3 years. he is easily going to be forgotten. what are your thoughts cuz I'm just confused that that happened
-
just found out that there's an opt out after 2026. he's gonna be with them for 2 years at least. just weird
-
I find it more surprising that the A's gave out a contract for more than the league minimum.
I'm not surprised at all that severino signed a 20+M a year deal, I'm flabbergasted that the A's did it, I didn't think they even knew the word million up to this point. -
And they already named him their opening day starter and it's only December 6th

@PAinPA_PSN The A's signed Severino to please their Las Vegas suitors, plain and simple. They (Vegas) wanted to know that the current Oakland A's owner wasn't a complete and total cheapskate that didn't want to field a competitive team, and the owner wants the city not to abandon their stadium project. Call me a cynic, but this is just a fact.

Yeah, I think you pretty well nailed it. Severino also gives the Sacramento fans (where they'll be playing until the Vegas stadium opens) something to look forward to. But at this moment, the A's still aren't a team to pay attention to.
