Halloween Program and Mandatory Showdown

This Halloweek showdown was the easiest one this year, by far. Granted, I've done them all except the extreme (didn't need the points).
I've done the run it back showdown about 20 times to get the season 2 vault pack. I've failed at least 10 times on that one as well, sometimes the CPU is a beast on all-star.
My suggestion is to draft switch hitters or in this case, lefties, and get the hero time and rally time boosts, anything that boosts exit velocity. Take pitches and if you get a slow guy on first base, substitute a 85+ speed guy and steal second so you don't get a double play. Those are rally killers
This.
The big thing is to not get frustrated and swing out of your shoes whenever the perfect-perfect / good swing outs start piling up. There is so much margin of error on these missions that it's still easy to overcome with patience.

I finally tried it and beat it, although there were some hairy moments. Especially with Carrasco. I was early on everything!!!
I suggest take mostly lefties, unless your bad righty-righty. I took David Fry, because that card is money. He won it with a walk-off oppo against Lee Smith, who is tough!
I also took J-Rod, for his speed, yet he got a clutch double to win an earlier round.
Grab speedy commons early. Greg Jones of Colorado was on my bench all the way!
Pause and relax if you have to. Try sitting forward. Sit back if need be. Even try batting standing up if you have to. That's what I did for some Extreme Moments! It works at times.
It truly isn't too hard, but I can see where players can struggle. Every pitcher is tricky, but beatable. -
I did it twice because I have to accounts and beat it the 1st time but on my other account I failed the 1st time but beat it my 2nd try in bed

if they didnt have a cost i would like them more

You make all the stubs back plus more, everyone should have enough stubs now to do showdowns. Lots of packs with cards to be sold
-
For anybody struggling the best advice I can give is draft all lefty bats and a couple speed guys. All the pitchers you face are righties so this will give you the matchup advantage. If you hit a single with a player under 80 speed then pinch run a speed guy and steal second base to stay out of double plays and get your runner into scoring position. String together a few hits and HRs and it should be relatively easy compared to most showdowns.

Agreed. As someone mentioned elsewhere, at this time of the year it's less of a problem, but still. Having to pay for them is not necessary at all.

@nymets1987_PSN that is my reason for hating showdown. If I lose at the final boss, let me try again at the final boss! At least 3 attempts before having to starting over.
-
It was pretty easy. I got it done 1st try, BUT I just wish you had the option not to do it because you could get some bad luck and waste your time. Another option would be nice. For example a repeatable xp mission with Halloween players. Just a suggestion.

Some of y'all never played the TMNT Dam level or Battle Toads and it shows.

And your point is ...

@beatlesnews_PSN If you don't know...it's not worth explaining.

@SchnauzerFace_MLBTS I feel like when you try to rush through Showdown is when you suffer... treat the at-bats like normal at-bats and take some pitches and you'll do just fine... trust I have my moments where I'll swing at every first pitch and then I end up only being able to tie the game and of course you have to score the winning run for "SUCCESS" so that gets real frustrating but then I lock-in and take pitches, even some strikes, and find myself having a much easier time getting through it... it also helps checking the pitchers handedness and the first batters game situation and then you can try to situate your base runners based off that... and don't be afraid to use the common players on your team and other players at your disposal because they make for some awesome pinch runners when your sluggers don't quite hit the ball over the fence.
Also I didn't mean that as a reply to you, meant it for the original OP and anyone else that shakes their first at the thought of NEEDING to do Showdown... I didn't even know you had to play Showdown for the Halloweek Event but I guess I haven't gotten that far in the program as I've been doing the stat missions and the PXP once I unlock the cards in the Reward Path... from there I'll probably finish Conquest and then mess around with the Moments and I guess Showdown at the end.

Its more like going back to play an early rpg dungeon with frequent random battles, no saving, and long loading screens for each battle
Its not particularly hard to get through but it takes forever, and if the enemy does happen to crit 4 times in a row you just wasted the last 30 miutes of your time
