New Name for Face of the Franchise

Cant have 90+ rated Face of the franchise cards in a program that takes 3-4 hours to get one. There would be zero value for Live Series Diamonds and ruin the market.

Cough cough* Rizzo

It more about finding guys they can realistically give low diamond cards to launch the game. If it was truly Face of the Franchise everybody would have a free Trout right now.
-
They said it themselves that these cards are not exactly the face of the franchise but a key piece of the team currently. What do you expect to get a Trout, Arenado or DeGrom when those guys already have a good diamond card? Let the guys who have crappy cards every year get something usable. I’m sure the upcoming cards will be better.
-
I call them Affinty (full name in here). i noticed these guys are the FOTF if they weren’t a LS diamond . cause imo the actual FOTF are already diamonds. only expectation is the posey who has his 99 diamond card.

Instead of Face of the Franchise. It should be called better card for the best player on a horrible team (Boyd, Mancini, Merrifeild), Prospect that hasn't entirely lived up to full potential (Guerrero, Tatis) or Slightly improved version of the third or fourth best guy on the team.
Seriously, is there a single FOTF card that represents that actual face of the franchise. Maybe WhiteSox is the legit FOTF.
Merrifield is very underrated irl. Yes, he is the best player on a horrid team but led the league in hitting 2 years. He is a very good MLB player. I could probably make an argument he is all around better than Altuve. Short porch in Houston and he doesn't know what pitch is coming.

Yeah, I was pretty upset not to get a 93-95 Freddie Freeman instead of an 89 Ozzie Albies. Albies is the third best player on the Braves, at best. He's "a" face of the franchise, but not "THE" face of the franchise. I agree that it is a little misleading.
Also, I realize that Acuna will probably be Atlanta's FOTF in another year or two, but Freddie has been the guy since Chipper retired.
They said in the stream players that are already Diamond would not get a FOTF. I think that was a stupid Idea. Since we are already getting 94-99 cards. Guys last year that already had diamonds got upgraded cards if they were POTM.
-
I'm pretty sure they said during one of the dev streams that for the sake of card diversity they didn't give FOTF card to players that already have live series diamond cards.

I mean, the Reds?
I guess Votto is the face. Or he is the 5th best guy on a bad team.
The reds are a "bad team"??

You do understand there FOUR stages to face of the franchise right? Ever considered that as the stages get released it would just be a better version of a better player on the team? Stage 2 of the Yankees might be Chapman then Stage 3 Stanton, etc.

They never said that anything other than stage one would be FOTF cards, and they won’t be. Most teams just don’t have the players. Boyd and Miggy are the only two tigers players any casual baseball fan would even know. Especially since they hust released that Miggy card, I would bet that we arent getting many more FOTF cards at all

Cubs shulodve been Bryant.
Problem with Bryant is there’s a legitimate shot that he won’t be on the north side in a few months (if they even play this year) and SDS probably wanted to avoid having a FOTF card that represents a team he doesn’t even play for anymore.
Fair point

Then maybe they should have called it Heart and Soul or Up and Comer or Key Player. With the actual best card being the FOG. Just a thought.
