We get it. You're not a fan. But this is also an absurd statement. Just because they haven't won the world series (something only 1 team can do every year), does not mean they aren't a "top team " (wtf does that even mean?)
5 division titles, 6 wild card berths and 6 ALCS appearances in 15 seasons is a top team resume.
And I'm old enough to remember when Yankee fans wouldn't even acknowledge any of those so-called accomplishments. I live in a place that has tons of Yankee fans (and Sox fans) so I know how most of them think:
If they didn't win a ring, it was a worthless season.
I see the goal posts have been moved now. Yay division titles!
And yeah that resume you listed would make most franchises happy. But these are the almighty Yankees so yes, they have fallen well short of expectations the last quarter century.
Yeah it has nothing to do with expectations. It was a direct response to your asinine comment that they arent a "top team" when their off years are still better than 90% of the teams in baseball.

Ok fine. I should have just said they have struggled enough this century to not warrant all of the top cards they get.
They may still be a top-ish team but don't deserve the dominant treatment from SDS they might have deserved 25 years ago.

Are you saying they should just release cards from the last 20 years or something? Im not understanding the point of this. Are you implying that they should get rid of Mantle, Gehrig, Ruth, Mattingly, Guidry and Ford? Or they should get rid of the newer legends like Jeter, Rivera, Posada, Bernie, Paul O'neill, Soriano, etc?
The reality you're ignoring is that when you're a "top team" for a good part of a century, you have top players, Hall of Famers, all stars, etc. -
Yeah, I don't think having headliners like Ryan Ludwick, Joe Torre and Lars Nootbaar really does Cardinals history any justice. So many more legend and Cardinal legends they could use, not even talking HOFers

Red Sox
Dodgers
Giants
Cardinals
Astros
Braves (maybe) -

I mean I'll give you Ludwick and Lars, but Torre is a legitimate HOFer and one of the best players of his era.
St. Louis could definitely use more Legends though. As soon as Pujols/Molina/Wainwright retired it really left a void especially if you are just running a Cards theme team.

I just looked it up they have won 26 of their 27 world series tittles in the last century,so not one of those teams are close.

Not sure what basis you're referring to but every player on those recent Astros teams is in the game. They also have 12 Hall of Famers....9 of them are actually in the game. They just happen to be on other teams.
