Highest u can get without the showdown is 42 because Báez is 45 and the extra 3 points to get to 45 are Báez pxp without the showdown

Ok got it. But none of that changes my original point that for now, yes the Showdown is mandatory.
Edit - I was dead on right. I have 42 points without the Showdown and Baez goal. Not sure what you're looking at. I have 1 extra point from the Cruz collection, if that's what's confusing.

Its a showdown.
none of the pitchers were problematic but most of them were 2-3 more runs than they needed to be for only 5 stars of program progress.
This. I'm in no hurry to complete the program; so I'm going to wait until thr last day to see if the Showdown is actually needed. 5pts is chicken feed and ridiculous.

And...that's why I hate Showdown. I was already up to Carrasco, accidentally hit a button on my remote and "disconnected from the show online". And moment counted as a defeat.
Im going to hope they're will be other ways to get those 5 points later on.

@dbub_PSN yeah, I really wish they hadn’t done this. Making the showdown mandatory really limits your options. It takes a lot of the fun out for me.

Is anyone having issues stealing bases vs CPU? On PS5, as soon as I hit L2 the opposing pitcher immediately steps off the bag and I get in a rundown (luckily, the CPU AI sucks so I get back). Normally, I hit L2 and the runner starts to go when the pitcher motions to the plate.
This has never happened to me unless I hit L1 once for a bigger leadoff (which I'm not). I do have a new controller though so maybe that's it?

Showdowns should have midway points (at least one) then I'd do them more often.

Nobody knows if it is mandatory.

As of now it is because you can't get Baez unless you wait til the next part of the program to come out

Completed the showdown 1st try on my main account and 3rd try on my 2nd account, definitely not easy but somehow I managed to complete it because I swung and missed ALOT

@ace_hardlight28_PSN Jackie isn’t a 99 STL, believe it or not, but you don’t absolutely need that. Obviously Rickey Henderson and the 50/50 Shohei cards are 99 STLs but so is the 99 Joe Morgan. Jimmy Rollins from season 1, too. I got quite a few steals of second from HOF Hank Aaron, Mays, and Jeter. The season 3 99 Mantle and Trout cards will get you those, too. Corbin Carroll is always fun.
Like the other dude, I finished mine in one game without even purposely stopping at first. If you’re going to steal third, take the one poke extra lead and prepare to maybe get picked off. Doesn’t happen often, but it does.

Why does everyone have to finish something right away? Just play the game and you'll get the missions completed.
I've been playing the Event all night and JUST noticed thst I already completed the 13 Steals.
And I'm 5 shy of my 31st XBH.
