Captain glitch

@GoozeFn_PSN That is why I’ve been asking for Manager boost and 1 Captain boost. This way you don’t have JoeShmoe as ur coach. Would be a cool way to bring back coach’s. Would also probably help franchise too with free agent coach options also. Imagine you run a Captain that boosts power and Ron Washington as ur manager who boosts fielding because he’s a fielding guy. That would also allow SDS to do a madden system where you can change the guys team like Juan Soto to fit ur Padre/Yankee/National team build.

@Dinger_Dan19_PSN I’d rather them spend money on legends than managers rights. I also like mixing and matching 2 boosts. It was working just fine when we could have one boosted on the bench.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN You like playing 87s and 91s late into the year when you put all that work in? Manager boosts solve that.

Why not just make higher overall captains? I personally don't see the appeal of having 85+ rated captains. Why not a 95+ rated player team captain like the other captains? 95+ Ortiz boosts 2000s hitters but 87+ Eovaldi is what you have to use for the theme team.
Just seems silly to me with how quickly the low creep actually catches up. -
@Dinger_Dan19_PSN No which is why you should be able to use the boost on the bench like we have most of the year. I’m not against the manager idea. I actually love the idea. I just suspect it would cost too much to pay 30+ ex and or current managers for likeness rights and that might cut into their budget for legends. If so, I’d rather those resources go to legends.
-
@AdeptOfMemory_PSN I like that. Maybe in season 4 you drop a 96 or 97 team captain and make theme teams viable when it matters most. If they are actually good cards that people want to use, You could make the requirement a full team from that team. Then, you could make the boost better for teams that have less top cards and worse for teams like the Yankees.
-
You know a feature is bad when the only way to enjoy it is to find ways around its intended use. SDS… people love captains. Just let us use it while they’re the bench. It’s no different than a pitcher in the rotation you aren’t using. Pretty ridiculous thing honestly
-
@GoozeFn_PSN they already have them? Is the Yankees manager not Boone? I’m just saying use assets you already have and expand on them.
For boosts would it not have made sense to have a NL boost or and AL boost, or a Divison boost? Like AL East, I see a lot of people using O’s and Yankees. Why not give a boost for that stuff that’s way more subtle but fun. Would take more players to build out but it adds what SDS wants with teams, diversity.

@Dinger_Dan19_PSN I don’t think they have likeness rights for managers.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN Then you haven’t played Franchise mode. They do

No not for all the managers plus that mode is totally different than DD
-
@Dinger_Dan19_PSN I’m not sure how it all works. If they have their likeness rights already, it’s a great idea. All I’m saying is I’d rather them spend resources on legends rather than managers.

@Dinger_Dan19_PSN How does it not work like that 1, other games can port their managers 2k, madden. And I’m not saying I disagree with more legends. I don’t think anyone does. But if adding managers you have access to, and port the same dude from one mode to another, that seems reasonable. The captain glitch made the game fun and judging by the fact I play people and only see pitcher captains in affect and not the 87 and 93 position players tells me they don’t work for the long run. How then do you solve this long run issue to make the game more fun for the community. You port an already existing thing you already have, change the way it works slightly for player fun, add more legends and bang done easy. This would also let SDS be creative and idk add their sock-puppet as one of those usable managers for fun. All this switch does is let people play their way, which the general public finds more fun. Or does it not work that way either?
-
@sbchamps17_NSW They do not add the new ones that take over during the season. Once the opening day lineup is set, thats the guy who steers the ship the rest of the year for that team.
-
Not all the teams have their managers because they don't have their rights so you won't see them in DD
-
@sbchamps17_NSW lol way to read my last post where I tried to acknowledge you but ok don’t read and kill the convo and post the same thing.

Here's my take on this.
Was it a glitch? IMO yes. A Captain SHOULD be in your starting lineup because they're boosting the other players.
Did people find a way around that? Yes. 99.9% of the time people will find a way around a certain 'rule'.
Should they have patched it? Yes and no. Yes because it was an exploit. No because it's the end of the game cycle.
What irks me is thst even though they 'patched' it; it only works for when you try to place the Captain on the bench in a NEW squad.
If you already had a squad made; you can still use the glitch.
That IS NOT FAIR.
SDS should've set it up where if you already had the glitch active; it would give you a 'ineligible squad' error.
They should just erase the patch and let ANYONE use it; instead of just people who were smart enough to leave it as one of their 4 squads.

The while broken fact is, is that SDS is more worried about fixing captains then the gameplay over all. Sliders shrinking your pci all year long. Good squared getting 0 exit velo. Filling off pitches not even near the strike zone dozens of times. Not don't fix obvious gameplay issues. Fix something in a game mode less then half the users play and captains when the captain is an unusable card anyways. You guys obviously all root for SDS and think the game isn't broken when it is. Watch any content streamer and all of them can show and talk about the obvious gameplay issues. None of them care if the captain is on the bench.
