I'll take a Wheeler and Castellanos card but would've much rather had the Mets eliminated. Didn't deserve to even be in the playoffs
Why did they not?
The irony is the Phils played the mets 7 times late in the season. had they won 4 of those 7 the mets might not be here.
-
Even if the Braves didn't blow the 1st game of the double header then the Mets wouldn't be in the playoffs

The team has played at the level of a 100 win team since June 1st
They had the toughest schedule down the stretch of any of the wild card hopeful teams and they were able to make up the ground needed. The Braves 'blew the game' is also laughable.
The mets had every right to be there and without question earned their spot. Its absurd to suggest otherwise, unless you are a purist who thinks it should go back to 4 teams (or 2).

I'm so glad we don't have to deal with Wheeler again in this series!
Wheels would still be a Met if it wasn't for dumb Brodie Van Wack- a-nen. -

Give Kerkering a card for the feat of giving up a hit in every game of the series?
A Common that I can use in the "Moonshot part 57".

One of my friends is a Mets fan and he won't stfu after every win. If my Yankees don't win it all, it's gonna be a long winter.

I absolutely HATE the Mets because they literally won't shut up. Already claimed that they were going to be hosting game 1 of the NLCS but their not because the Dodgers and Padres are a better seed then them
-
I agree but honestly the Phillies were that team who ran the division all year and played flat I. The second half and expected to just turn it on cone playoff time. Braves did the same thing last year. The team that gets hot in September will almost always beat the team that was hit the first half and a bit over .500 the second half
-
@sbchamps17_NSW So the team that needed one of 2 teams to win both of the double header games to advance deserved it more?
-
@sbchamps17_NSW The Mets proved the Phillies didn't deserve to be there as the Phillies as a whole fell flat on their faces when it mattered. Mets humiliated the Phil's at home and buried them until next year.
-
Well I hope that the Mets get pounded by either the Dodgers or Padres

Every team has fans like that. Like the Yankee fans that will remind you how many World Series their team has won even if they werent alive for most of those. Or, the Phillies fans that will tell you the team that beat them didnt deserve to be in the playoffs (its not like they limped into the last wild card slot losing 13 of their last 20 games or anything)
Obnoxious boasting is silly. Baseball has a way of humbling teams.
The mets realistically have the 4th best roster among NL playoff teams, and one of those teams had injury hell. They arent favorites vs the Dodgers or Padres on paper, but they arent that far off and they have momentum. Im just thrilled to have witnessed some truly great baseball drama, and that even includes the game 2 the Phillies won. Incredible baseball game.

Mets had an amazing 2nd half of the season, one of the best in the majors. To say they didn't "earn" or "deserve" their spot is laughable.
-
I’m only annoyed because this is how the Phillies were going to get good cards to use in game. Ik I’ll get a 99 Harps and Casty but now Marsh when he was hot at the start of the year? No Carlos Esteves or good Strahm or Hoffman? Like these guys were good and hot at one point but because SDS like all of use thought they’d make the World Series now we get no decent cards. They don’t need to be 99s but like 97s or 96s? And their butcher Mike Schmidt’s swing every year so it’s annoying. Like S4 will be fun because of theme teams and I hope SDS doesn’t forget that
-
Even that the Phillies are eliminated from the playoffs and I’m sick to death because of it cause there my team and I despise the Mets! There are a lot of changes coming in 2025.. The Phillies top priority will being pursuing Juan Soto, Tanner Scott, Corbin Burnes will be available. I’ve already heard the rumor that Bohm will be traded to St Louis, Jeff Hoffman will be gone. After what happened this year Montgomery knows he Fked up by not going after some big names at the trade deadline. SDS you hardly gave us any good Phillies Cards all year a 99 Trea, Bryce, Kyle, Nick and Zach Wheeler would be nice and truly appreciated… The Phillies will be back in 2025

As a Mets fan, I never ever hated the Phillies. I have a lot of respect for them.
Utley did anger me. Maybe Victorino. Maybe Cole (slaw) Hamels. Maybe man Jason Werth did, but hate? Too strong of a word.
This 2024 Philly team has players I'd love on my team. Their manager is very good. I've been a fan of Harp, Shwarbs, and Trea way before the got to the Phillies.I view fans that have all that hate for opposing teams as ones with natural hatred in their hearts, and are somewhat disturbed.
I hope you don't use good cards of players from teams you hate so much! If you do, you are a phony, baloney eating bastid 🤪If one thinks they're qualified to judge if a team really deserved some postseason action, then you must think you're Mr. Baseball, which you are not.
Maybe if you base it on pre-Wild Card requirements, I can see what you mean.
If a team gets hot and gets in under the requirements, then they've earned it. -
@Teak2112_MLBTS Honestly, the end of the season was great for a fan of the sport (I'm A Cardinals fan, so maybe next year). Storylines are always fun to follow in any sport, especially with playoffs on the line.
-
@TheGoaler_MLBTS Yeah, when I first started watching baseball in 2007, I had it on a Red Sox-Yankees game, and I rooted for the Sox because in the NBA at the time I was rooting for the Celtics (because of the Celtics having green, my favorite color, not for the championships they had). I don't see the need to hate the Yankees, and as a Cardinals fan (because of their Triple A team being in Memphis, my hometown) I don't hate the other teams in my division, I just want us to win.
-
@whiplash0013_PSN Some teams do get hot, others cold, and we see a few teams that may not have been taken out of the freezer at the beginning of the year.
