Online H2H - please explain this
-
I got back into the game doing online h2h.
So some games, say I'm the home team, I play my online opponent and get out of the first inning.
When they pitch, all they do is pitch it down the middle. I score like 12/13 runs per inning.
I think they must have quit the game and the game hasn't caught up. But then when I go into the next inning, they are still trying to hit the ball when batting. meaning they are still playing down 12!
then I go to my bottom half, and same thing, just pitches down the middle to crash. I purposely strike out 3 times and pitch to them and they're still playing.
What is this about? Are they really playing the game because who would sit thru the other team scoring 10+ just to get ABs?

Game is trash but it's better to stay in the game grieving than to quit. You get significantly more exp just doing nothing and letting you mercy than they would quitting.
This sound like you're just complaining that you're winning. You so good, man. You should be pro. -

I dont care about Wins or Losses. All I want online is a good game with another player who plays baseball. Not some [censored] that wastes my time.

We hear this complaint a billion times almost ENTIRELY from the winners perspective. And every single time it's comments just like yours flaunting how they just keep doing so well but people quit. SDS can't fix their interface or this issue. SDS would rather ignore it because if they put bans on people for leaving they would literally not have a playerbase. The game is not as welcoming to casual players like other games are. Shooters like cod or Fortnite are so welcoming even in their ranked setting because it's not a [censored] bloodbath every match you play like it is in TS. This game is super sweaty and toxic so il literally never take the side of a person smashing balls to the moon and getting mad when people quit or grief. I take the side of the person in 300 rating but keeps getting matched against people like you who are just so good you can't keep people from quitting or grieving. it happens alot less in high ranks. Keep winning and you'll get over it eventually.

Don't get program points for wins anymore. Just innings and hitting stats.
Some people don't care about their record, so they just let their opponent score so the opponent will play the whole 9 innings.
You can't say 'Online H2H' and 'competitive' in the same sentence.
If you want a competitive game; try a Friendly one.

@AdeptOfMemory_PSN Take the Troll Stick out of your A$$ for 5 seconds and reread what OP wrote...Not a single complaint was made. They're asking why an opponent would be engaged on offense, but then just tank on defense.

Because he's smacking the [censored] out of the ball no matter where he pitches it! It's called grieving! How do you not understand this? Probably because you're amazing at the game too. It's literally an easy way to not give a [censored] about the game and just try to win the 9 inning home run derby. I'm not the one misunderstanding YOU are.
It's simple.
If you notice your opponent is smacking the absolute p1$$ out every pitch you throw it no longer matters how your defense goes. All that matters is you staying in the game and keeping a good offense.
It's called grieving. It's better than just quitting because it enables you to get your parallels, practicing your hitting skills, and still get a [censored] ton of XP all the while you're getting your 4$$ beat. Holy [censored] dude. Think critically instead of in one lane.
You're not thinking about how the griefer is thinking cause you don't do these types of strategies. Your too good to do that.I can tell you it's far better to just throw the ball right down the middle and hope for pop ups and ground outs than working your [censored] off trying to make the perfect pitch but you end up getting walks or home runs against you instead. It's less frustrating that way.
Also, clearly none of you watch or actually pay attention to MLB games. They literally stop giving a [censored] when they are down double digits. That's why we see so many position players being subbed to pitch in the last half of the game. They throw meat balls and the game just keeps going

I never experienced this waste of time tactic playing this game. I just started playing online too. I kept batting because I thought the game was going to end. And it was also good batting practice for me if the guy quit.
not sure why you are so enraged by my post. it's a freaking video. maybe get out of the house more and enjoy life.

@AdeptOfMemory_PSN You have to literally be the dumbest human being on the planet my guy. He was asking a simple question on why would someone take that kind of approach. And you went on your crybaby I HATE SDS rant like you do on every other post in here. If you're so [censored] smart about this game and know so much about it. How about just trying to help people and answer there questions about it instead of just saying how bad the game sucks and then comparing it to COD, Fortnite and Baldurs Gate.

This sound like you're just complaining that you're winning. You so good, man. You should be pro.My reply was incredibly tame comparatively to what else is on these forums. You're crying. He's crying. You could have just as easily laughed off my "you're too good comment" as the joke it was but no. You had to play victim and get whiney.
Don't get all [censored] hurt because of me. He literally said "....wasting MY time" my brother in Christ, that's on YOU! You're the one playing the game getting mad about being grieved. YOU are wasting time, not the other player. They don't have an obligation to cater to YOUR time. Entitled is the best thing I can say and that why I got somewhat snarky. Then you two got [censored] hurt about it.
Not my problem
I gave the answer and explained very well why this [censored] happens in this game.
Not my fault you guys are so good you never have to deal with being snacked around trying to stick out a game for the sake of XP and the grind. You're so blind to the other side you'd rather get offended by slight snark on a forum that's far more toxic than anything I said.I am beyond flattered you remember my posts though blush. It means you pay attention to me so what I'm saying must be working cause.....here you are TRYING to quote me. Cute.
I will add you both sound like the exact same lot that get whiney and upset when in a freeze off and you're up one run you feel the other player is obligated to leave the freeze off so you can get the win. Absolutely entitled nonsense from you. Maybe you don't think that way but It would be contradictory to your beliefs on something like this post topic.
Grieving happens and it's real. Happens not just in The Show but other games too. Other games are just more polished and well made.
The reward system for xp and parallels in this game is absolutely [censored] so grieving is a legit strategy to this game. That's not on the playerbase. That's on SDS. -

Correct but the only problem with this is that you don't get parallels or significant xp from friendly 1v1s. They are unfortunately just entertaining time wasters. If you want xp you need to do offline, ranked, or events/BR. Casual and friendlies don't reward enough.

How does it match you vs players? It seems like 80% of my games the other person is WAY above my level of play.
