Another Thursday passed with no updates

C'mon SDS. Another Thursday has come and come with no update...Please stop burying your heads in the sand here with this mode.
MAJOR ASKS SOONER RATHER THAN LATER
-Apply the ground trim logic to the walls. Make the walls the hard object, not the props. This would eliminate 99% of the prop placement issues, and in theory should eliminate the deadzones with the SDS generated dimensions
-Building Block Props- Think minor league style seats but without that press row. Bleacher/bench seats like the LF stands at Progressive Field in Cleveland, or the bleacher upper deck seats in Milwaukee. I would love the old "county style" outfield bleacher seats(Arlington Stadium, Milwaukee County, Baltimore Municipal etc)
-Make Batter's Eyes useful. They're too far away from the walls. Take a look at most of the parks, the Eye is almost right against the wall/very close to it. Let us actually attach stuff to the eye to make that seamless look.
BASIC QOL REQUIREMENTS
-Let us maneuver the foul territory. I'm 99% positive this was the original intention otherwise why even have the adjustment points?.
-FOR GODSAKE GIVE US MOVEABLE BULLPENS.
-Yellow line across the top of the wall
-Scoreboard inlays for walls
-Tarped off sections in lieu of batter's eyes...or even make a tarped off section a batter's eye option, or the option to build our own batter's eye
-Tarped off option for some seats
-Stairs with railings
-Proper club seating and suites
-Squared up backstops and corresponding seats
-Seating templates that actually fit the backstop
-Old style astroturf carpet option
-Proper Facade templates

They are not going to do anything this late in the season for stadium creater

100% agreed, this is more about staying on them for next year.

We won't see any of these things unfortunately. I've said it before, just like the uniform creator, this feature won't add anything that'll change the look if things. Bullpens on the field and adjustable foul territories are akin to no option to add logos to team sleeves, and limited font for name and numerals.
Only way this changes is if this game gets a PC release and people can actually get into the game code and mod it, but even then it'll still be limited.
-
It's a shame too. When this feature was first revealed we were ecstatic. Its amazing how tone deaf SDS is when it comes to just the simple QOL things we've been requesting and how poorly the geometric layouts are with stands connecting to walls and the lack of just being able to mirror flip a prop to make sense. For example, creating the bottom bowl portion of the stands. Certain stands have the seats on the left. Let us flip them so both sides are flush.

Everything you're asking for is cosmetic. Not even real issues. They won't fix bugs or glitches, they won't fix cosmetics.

Nobody's arguing that point don't get me wrong. This is about staying vocal and not letting these things get lost in the depths of the forum. That creators are gonna remain vocal about it.

FWIW: Another update (#18) was announced very late Thursday night for release early Friday morning and no updates to Stadium Creator.
-
I genuinely don't understand why they're so ignorant of this mode. I get it, they're not gonna make money off it. But come on...it's the main reason I've stopped uploading my creations...at a certain point all the ways to use the various props have been seen by now after three years

That's the reality that needs to be driven home to SDS until they finally acknowledge the situation. I try very hard to avoid being critical of peoples' works. Prime reason is simple civility, but also a healthy appreciate for how much work it takes to make a stadium. But, I think one of the prime motivations of many of these recent stadiums is to try to figure out some new wrinkle in the process, because they are bored of what they have created many times before.
Unfortunately, many of these stadiums in the macro analysis are just fanciful, bearing no relationship to the real world. In short, they would never be built and any company presenting such a plan to an MLB team would be rejected and likely never contracted again to provide a stadium design.
Simple things like being able to turn the baseline stands so that at some point the front of the stand is facing home plate, and then being able to seam up the first outfield stand to vertically match, is an avenue that would launch thousands of different design options which would all look quite realistic and make sense from a design point of view.
But, SDS seems determined to selfishly guard that design option for themselves. I mean if we designers were greedy, we would say that SDS should add two new corner baseline field props to every single theme they currently have and these two props would be designed to go into the corners of the foul poles, and be suited for creating the pinched in look of today's ballparks.
This leads me right back to what I think is the root of all of this. SDS has made a decision that they want the created stadiums to be inherently compromised. So, they have determined that it will never progress past the jewel box basic template, and there will never be the option to modify the baseline walls to veer away from this squarish setup.

I kind of wish that they would add in things such as location of sunset. You know not all sunsets go into the third base area. If you look most games that's how it is. That's where the sun sets in most games. There should also be not just altitude but wind speed and direction. You should be able to make that customizable for every game. It'd be nice to see you know. Calm wins Gusty winds hurricane winds winds. It changed during the game like in real life in Wrigley or somewhere else where it may not be windy. Like Los Angeles or San Diego weather should also be a factor as well. I think you could get better sunsets or even seeing games that start in rain and they become playable or game with where it becomes overcast into rain where even in real life they should have umpires come out and judge if the field is too wet to play on. If it's past five innings they should have it as the official game. If not, they should have it rescheduled in franchise mode. But still I think small things like that in a stadium. Crater are really just what's needed. Just a small stuff

I've mentioned it before, I still think that the original intention was for foul ground to be able to be pinched in. All you've gotta do to deduce that is look at the placement of where the individual points are. Turning the baseline stands to face homeplate needs to be one of the things. Heck, they've stuck us with the jewelbox square design, but we can't even model it to be a 80's style multi-purpose field because of how handicapped we are with the lack of placement freedom around the batter's eye.
This whole "lights cant be near the batter's eye" nonsense has got to stop...I have no idea why they implemented that when there's more than a few MLB parks that have lights over or near the Eyes. The fact that you can't even put the neon or marquee letters near the eye is horrendous. It's like for every step forward, they took three back.
-
@jake93436_PSN Much of the reason as to why the sun sets regularly in one location is that MLB mandates home plate be located in a certain corner (option of two origins), thus preventing the sun from ever being in the batter’s eyes. That’s why the consistency of what you witness.
-
I don't think anyone here has complained about the sun angles.
In terms of lights in batters eyes, the reality is what MLB wants to direct is designed to keep a batter from being hit in the head and killed. This is a virtual game. My point is that the solution to any legitimate concerns is to divorce custom stadiums from coop play hard and fast.
All, and I do mean all, of the frustrating and overdone little rules that stymie so many legitimate creating options are rooted in a vain effort to prevent cheating in coop games. The larger point being they don't prevent cheating. All they do is frustrate honest people.
Without custom stadiums in coop games, what's left are games versus the CPU not involving Diamond Dynasty. This means the only person you are cheating is yourself. In the meantime, just being able to lay down batters eye props and have the full range of connection options as regular props, being able to lay down stands at angles without rules saying we cannot, would add huge to the quality of SC.
And in conclusion on this point, SDS has spent way too much time listening to DD players [censored] and moan, and in the process the bitching and moaning has only increased. And the height of the anger is when someone proposes a solution to what they are complaining about. This is because most of this angst comes from people who just want to tear things down.
-
And again...
I know they don't care about it, but jeez. I just hope they're reading this section occasionally and realizing the changes they need to make. Chiefly no more deadzones, being able to manipulate foul ground, moving the bullpens, and giving a moving "allowance" in order to keep stadiums online eligible
-
@Sarge1387_PSN it's too late for them to give any huge updates. Even in the next game they won't even do any of that, they've shown time and time again they don't actually care about it. All these useless props nobody asks for instead of realistic features like you've listed. They don't even care about custom teams
