2nd Inning Showdown

Could have also called this thread "I'm a loser"
Just failed my 22nd attempt at 2nd Inning Showdown. This time on the second mini boss after getting in a position of only needing one run from my last 11 outs. I've been tracking all my attempts across all Showdowns. Two successes out of 53 total attempts (includes a few forfeits).
I ain't blaming the game, it's all on this dude (well, actually maybe 5% of my outs are BS fly outs).
Good thing is I aint mad about it no more, and am still having a fun ... sort of. -
Like haven’t completed it at all?

No dude, fail every time. I know it seems easy, but I just butcher it when it comes to the crunch. Have actually only made the final boss 8 times.
I ain't good. -

I ain't good.Do you need to get past the second mini boss to get the additional 6 runs? Also what final boss have you been pulling?

Good point. My plan last time was just go to the final boss 15-7; but I saw the second mini boss was Wood so thought it would be fine. I
Of my 8 cracks at the final boss, the first 4 were Price and then the next 4 were Giles. With Giles he got down to no energy and looked like he'd walk my final runs in, but he always managed to throw some good strikes. -
I got to 15-7 for my win. My best suggestion, sit fastball up, don’t swing anywhere else in the zone unless you change to sitting offspeed, and draft Joc Pederson whenever you see him, lol

-
There’s no point in skipping the 2nd mini boss when you can get 2 diamond players and 2 diamond perks plus an easy 4-6 more runs....?
-
I failed the first inning one about 12 times before getting it. Got this one first try. No clue how.
-
Same here. I can get within a run but can't beat either Showdown. I suck, though
-
Just failed second mini boss again. Two hits in 12 outs, both of those hits erased on double plays.
Scratched together three final out runs, but couldn't get the fourth.
Classic. -
It just takes to long nut it's quite easy just take a break a few times into it. I'm not good but completed the one to get Gallo just skipping to the end first attempt though I couldn't be bothered doing it again so just done the exchanges.
-
Showdown sucks, period. I am not even trying to do them because of the waste of time if you fail. You get NOTHING unless you beat it. I have a life and cannot waste 10 hours doing stupid $##% for minor rewards.
-
2nd Inning was definitely the easiest showdown to complete so far, aside from the Starter one.
And yes, I think showdown is a great mode.

I don’t know if they patched it or if it’s random but I got him last night and needed 3 runs. Last week I got him and needed only one

Good thing is I aint mad about it no more, and am still having a fun ... sort of.I just got it last night after failing like 7 times. I know it’s cliche at this point but it’s true what they say, not swinging helps. I needed 11 runs against Giles and decided to play it out just to screenshot when he got tired for future reference. Once he got to like 50 pitches I never even moved the PCI. I just power swung at everything down the middle and took everything else. Ended up scoring 11 runs with 4 outs to spare. I don’t think he got an out after reaching zero stamina. Also, I played a couple event games to kinda calibrate my eyes to the faster pitch speed. I think one of the biggest things that messed with me was jumping from veteran to all star during the last three moments. Everything seemed so much faster. Also, I forfeited every time I got Feller. I can’t hit him and he gets 20 outs on me long before he gets tired. Finally, just keep doing it. People on this thread mention the BS that happens all the time in showdown, but if you keep at eventually the hits will drop, and you might even get a CPU error or two. Oh yeah, FWIW I’m like a 400 rated player, so by no means am I “elite”
-
I just started playing showdown this week and really like it. I’ve been able to blow through all pretty quickly. The main thing I ve found is probably obvious but don’t waste picks on pitching. Against the cpu I don’t think it really matters whether you have a bronze or diamond pitcher. Unless they give you four pitchers in a round don’t waste the pick on a pitcher. Again probably obvious but I didn’t think of this the first time through but against the bosses don’t worry about positions because you won’t play defense. Just stack your lineup. It doesn’t matter if you play Gary Sanchez at short because you won’t actually play defense. Even with later round picks I’ll stack my bench so I can set up the final round boss with all lefties or all righties.

I’ve did it once. Got to the last one and tied it up 15-15 with 11 outs left. After that all my players forgot how to hit. I got DDA’d
