Ranked Seasons…

@AdeptOfMemory_PSN seems on brand..
-
What’s crazy to me, is that in 2020 and 2021 I had the best ERA in the world at 3.45 and 3.55. I’ve now realized that I will NEVER get even close to those numbers again or even close. This game is for hitting by far. It’s frustrating, but it is what it is. I do wish I could dominate a team on the mound again, but even my best pitched games I seem to give up 5-6 runs. Crazy
-
Whether it's morally right or wrong, the game incentivizes players to quit because award retrievals become a massive time sink.
-
@KommanderNKeef9_PSN the best era in the world at 3.45? lol what?
-
@TheCanuckler309_XBL in 2020 and 2021. Yes. At the end of both game cycles. Nothing special, but it’s crazy to know that and have a 5.50 this year.
-
@KommanderNKeef9_PSN um lots of people had an era under 3.55 in 20 and 21 lol
-
@KommanderNKeef9_PSN every bad player that hangs around the 4-500s has an era in the 2s lol
I don’t really care how good of a pitcher someone thinks they are, if you’re playing good players you’re giving up runs no matter what lol
-
@TheCanuckler309_XBL oh I wasn’t talking about everyone. That’s my bad. I was only looking at the top 500 players those years. Sorry should’ve been clear. I was a .230 hitter back then but still made top 50 most seasons. Now it’s opposite. It’s weird.
-
@KommanderNKeef9_PSN that would make more sense. I was like in the world uh..
-
@TheCanuckler309_XBL no you’re exactly right. Last thing I wanna do is put something untrue on here haha. Good catch sir! But seems like now every player can be in every game no matter the skill gap
-
@KommanderNKeef9_PSN I don’t know man.. not really that much has changed in the last couple years in regards to a skill gap.. and I find a 61% winning percentage to be hard to be believable for top 50 most seasons.. that to me says there was less of a skill gap in 21 if that was making top 50 majority of seasons.

Of course there's absolutely no way to get better at this game; if you're a 400-500 level player, that's all you'll ever be, but don't worry: it's SDS's fault. You simply can't improve upon your pitch sequencing, or tunnelling... just impossible to play better defense, or to make better decisions running the bases... no way to be more selective at the plate or to work counts into your favor. It's the game's fault because every single aspect of it is out of your control, and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it.
Massive over simplification but you are half right.
Elo hell is real as much as a player allows it to be.
Time is a factor you have yet to interject and I will get to that.No one said it's not my fault for my rank nor am I saying it is SDSs fault for my rank. You're becoming clearly sarcastic but still making half truths that you are letting go over your own head. You mock the idea that things are out of your control and acting as if it's a wild claim while still holding a defense for things that unless you have the cards you cannot control. If I may give a quick example.
Interactions at the plate, take perfect perfect interaction for this example but there are others that can be made. If you have a batter at an overall rating of 87 and the pitcher has strong per 9s in strike outs, walks, and hrs let's say overall rating of 93. If both players in this situation are giving perfect timings and PCI/PINPOINT the game takes stats into effect that you cannot control nor see how they are being applied. We can only assume that the RNG is going to work in favor of the one with greater stats. There is nothing wrong with this by nature nor do I have a complaint until it comes to our very discussion. There is no good reflection of your skill that the game can present to you. Now the game does provide a visual of your swing that it too I have seen for myself and been told I'm looking at the wrong things. It is glitchy and not always accurate and I do not believe unless you rewatch your games you don't have the easiest access to any of this information. Batting average and era is not an accurate statistic either and we know this for the most part as the game is not a FULL simulation like we tell ourselves it is or should be.
Again, will this mean it's SDS fault for one's rank? No. Is it a failure on SDS to deliver in this regard? Yes.Another thing you and many others who debate me that continue to know everything I say and do here but gloss over very important information about my opinions on this game.
I do not have these complaints about 23 as I do 24. Sets and seasons makes a massive impact on ones ability to play the game. I digress.Back to my point on time.
How do you get better? Time spent and where that time is spent.
Let's say I can offer 2-3 full 9 inning games. And that's what I would like to do. Seems good to me. If I join a ranked match, and I get clobbered early I have two options to use my time in the most effective way.1.) take the absolute [censored] beating and just remain pissed until the next game. HOPEFULLY take the mercy loss to get it done quickly and move on.
2.) quit without penalty and start another game quickly and have a better chance at even competition. Less of an [censored] beating and no penalty is great for someone with a schedule.
You can argue the nitty gritty on xp earned and PxP gained from amount of innings or time played in the game, from my perspective, it doesn't matter if you quit in the 3rd inning or take the [censored] beating until the 9th, you still get rewards and packs that will suffice to the next game. I digress.
Until SDS penalizes players for leaving there is nothing you can do about this. SDS will not add this penalty because why? We all know the answer, they would not have a player base.
I don't want to change topic but I'd like to add a point on the cultural impact from this community when it comes to the debates of time offered and game modes played.
You should never be mocked or treated as if you're doing wrong when you're simply playing the game mode you want to play and how. It's insane to see how many times the defense of this game when someone voiced their frustration they are met with "well I just did a full scan on your entire game history and it says that you play X game mode on X difficulty. That means you're trash and not playing the game right. You should just stop playing if you can't play it right and you get angry."
SDS can't do [censored] for their own customer service and support and rely heavily on the basement dwellers of the forums. Not everyone has 3 hours a day to offer a grind to SDS gods for a reward. Not everyone enjoys getting their [censored] beat in BR or ranked and just want to play casual or offline and not [censored] hate themselves. Again, I digress.Other players have gone in massive waves back to older versions and there is no denying that. Queue times are better in other games modes on older versions.
I am fully aware my rank is low. I can tell you right now why. Time, patience, and frustrations. My rank was better in 23 and is better in 23. I don't hate 23 like I do 24. Stop glossing over that. I can have a low rank and enjoy this game. Just not 24. Stop acting like 24 is some perfect heaven sent MLB game. It's not. And it's obvious it's not. -

Uhhh in Ranked Season 1 World Series the top players has a .526 average....and thats followed by an average above .400
What information are you looking at and is mine wrong? That's from the main site.
-
@LIONED-33_XBL I wouldn't compare it to playing in the pros. I'd love to suck, have to play, and get paid millions every year.
-
@AdeptOfMemory_PSN I don’t even know what you’re talking about

You were replying to an era of .345 being the best in the world. He was talking about his own and I didn't see that part. The current best is in .500. You probably knew that.
-
@AdeptOfMemory_PSN 3.45
what's an ERA....
-
@TheCanuckler309_XBL what?
-
@AdeptOfMemory_PSN Do you know what ERA stands for?
