Why cry about more points in less time. It gets you closer to Trout. SMH

But... you don't get points for wins in RS any more...

Got it... I'm talking about us not-so-talented players that have to work the program 😧

@AdeptOfMemory_PSN, this is the wrong attitude.

If the person you're playing is that much better, and you don't have the mental fortitude to stick in there long enough to learn something (see if you can allow fewer runs by trying something different, try to be more patient at the plate in coming innings and see if you can score, etc.), then they'll mercy you in couple of innings anyway and your "pain" will be over soon enough.

Failure and loss are major components of the game, and if you can't handle that because it isn't fun, then baseball might not be the game for you.

I agree with the OP - give a couple of freebies to account for disconnects, then penalize the hell out of quitters.

Here is my thing I signed up to play a 9 inning game. I’m not worried about a trout who will be useless in 2 weeks. I like to play and compete. If you clicked ranked seasons you signed up to play 9 innings. Stop being a byotch because you can’t beat me and quitting. I don’t quit when I get beat. I get better. I don’t care about the rewards. I enjoy playing.

@LIONED-33_XBL you did compete, you played so well that you made your opponent quit. End of story, load up another game and play it.

When we match up, I will play every inning where you're ahead of me by less than 10 runs. That's a promise...

There is no method to learn in a game of RNG and poorly reflected statistics like swinging timing and pitch timing. This is NOT the wrong attitude on a broken game that doesn't penalize you for leaving games. I'm not coming at this from a sportsmanship or morals angle. Ain't no one making money or losing their jobs over this [censored] so no, it's not some grand morals issue and your opponents are not obligated to stay in the game against you.
How do you learn if you have good to perfect timed hits and pitches and they get decimated? How do you learn if your throw curveballs in the dirt and your opponents still foul them out every time until you throw a strike down the middle for them to smash? Even the most active and vocal players in this forum will tell you that perfect perfects don't mean anything and you should expect perfect results. So how tf do you learn if the information being given isn't accurate??
You can't blame the gamer for the fault of the poor game design. That's on SDS not the community who gave them money to play the game.
You act as if this game is a pure simulation that requires utmost baseball skill and knowledge. Ain't nothing accurate about this game. You're gonna say "it's just baseball" with players batting .575 on average? Lol wtf??
No. There's ZERO reason someone has to sit through and [censored] beating in this broken game.

If you can't handle someone quitting because you are better than them then maybe the Internet and video games aren't for you.

@AdeptOfMemory_PSN, sadly, this is about what I'd expect...

Of course there's absolutely no way to get better at this game; if you're a 400-500 level player, that's all you'll ever be, but don't worry: it's SDS's fault. You simply can't improve upon your pitch sequencing, or tunnelling... just impossible to play better defense, or to make better decisions running the bases... no way to be more selective at the plate or to work counts into your favor. It's the game's fault because every single aspect of it is out of your control, and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it.

When you play someone who's better than you, the best course of action is always to give up and quit. And don't dawdle and amateurishly navigate to the game's menu and select quit; just go straight for the power button, or, better yet, yank the cord right out of the wall. Why not? There's zero reason to stick around if you aren't winning... I mean, why play anything if you aren't winning.

Of course you're not coming at this from a sportsmanship angle; it's hard to see the anything as an exercise in character building when you have none.

You're really good at complaining, though, so there's something.

What’s crazy to me, is that in 2020 and 2021 I had the best ERA in the world at 3.45 and 3.55. I’ve now realized that I will NEVER get even close to those numbers again or even close. This game is for hitting by far. It’s frustrating, but it is what it is. I do wish I could dominate a team on the mound again, but even my best pitched games I seem to give up 5-6 runs. Crazy

Whether it's morally right or wrong, the game incentivizes players to quit because award retrievals become a massive time sink.

@TheCanuckler309_XBL in 2020 and 2021. Yes. At the end of both game cycles. Nothing special, but it’s crazy to know that and have a 5.50 this year.

@KommanderNKeef9_PSN every bad player that hangs around the 4-500s has an era in the 2s lol

I don’t really care how good of a pitcher someone thinks they are, if you’re playing good players you’re giving up runs no matter what lol

@TheCanuckler309_XBL oh I wasn’t talking about everyone. That’s my bad. I was only looking at the top 500 players those years. Sorry should’ve been clear. I was a .230 hitter back then but still made top 50 most seasons. Now it’s opposite. It’s weird.

@TheCanuckler309_XBL no you’re exactly right. Last thing I wanna do is put something untrue on here haha. Good catch sir! But seems like now every player can be in every game no matter the skill gap
