I'll agree to this. Some variation would be nice, but keep in mind there is only so much they can do with stat missions

The game needs more player and team specific missions and needs to employ the use of common, bronze and silver cards. Hell I haven't really had to use any gold cards since week 1.
Again, I'll agree to an extent, it would be nice to see some more rarity-centric missions. Win X amount of games with Silver pitchers, Get X amount of strikeouts with bronze pitchers. Get X amount of HR, or RBI, or hits with Gold/Silver/Bronze hitters.
Team specific missions already sort of exist with Team Affinity, although I'd like to see more of them.

The current offline programs make 90% of what you open in packs completely useless, and with the lame rewards for completing a team collection, pointless.
They're exchange fodder, which I'm alright with. The LS awards definitely took a massive step back this year I'll concede that point...collections in general appear to have taken a massive step back thanks to the seasons set up. I wish they'd bring back the Allstar, SHH, Rookie, Veteran, HoF, and Awards style collections...those were good.

The retro all-star Showdown is basically designed that a 4 year old can blow through it on the first try. It's basically a participation trophy.
It's centred around the HRD...it's supposed to be obnoxiously hilariously easy. It's about Dingers.

Hard disagree. I think they're cool, and a way to break the tedium of grinding. They're fantastic for polishing off programs like the Awards ones after you've ground out the missions. I wish they brought back the weekly and dailies TBH...
I never want to see the collections where you need a certain type of cards that’s one thing I disagree on especially when cards like Prime cards and such were so rare for offline players

Really? You had a hard time getting those cards? As an offline player I never had a hard time getting them...alot of times you needed to grind your nuts off, but they were worth it

Nothing is preventing you from using common, bronze, silver or gold cards.

Agreed, but you missed the point. The point was change it up, make us actually have to use them. I do this all the time especially when it's tedious stat ones...but actually make the program progression be "Get X hits with Gold CF". Something different

This is the worst thing about the game for me. I want more freedom to earn rewards with cards that I enjoy playing. Obviously, the mission tasks should be consistent with the program. But "get 1000 XP with any program cards" is a much better mission than "get 10 XBH hits with gold catcher cards".

I would have 100 extra Topps now or monthly cards and not enough of certain collections so I hope that never comes back

I didnt miss the point. They give you the freedom to do that if you choose....but why force other people to use lower ranked cards if they dont wanna? People complain in here that they dont have the freedom to use the cards that they want but broad missions like "XBHs with a 1B" gives the player total freedom to do just that.

But why would you? If you need to grind stats with say 1B and you have a bunch of diamonds, why would you use a common or bronze?
It's not about the freedom, it was more fun to unlock a Bronze Maddux rookie and have to get so many K's to unlock his Silver, then pitch x amount of innings to earn a Maddux Gold, until you earn the Diamond Maddux. It was more fun, challenging, and it actually felt like you earned it.
Now it's just grind conquest,, easily, with a team of amazing cards and blow through boring moments. Every single program, every single moment, are just retreads over and over and rather easy.

You literally said in the OP that you havent had to use any golds since week 1. Why would you? I dont know....some people like a challenge. The freedom is there to use them if you want but seriously, people complain about tedious grinds for 89s...how do you think people would react if that tedious grind for 89s required X amount of hits with a silver LS card on the A's?

You did. Nobody is saying you can't use different rarities, which is what you're appearing to argue. And nobody is saying you're wrong, either. The point is instead of making it generic to just 1B, why not make it a touch more challenging and restrict it to Silver 1B. Something- anything different would be beneficial. Because for instance, right now with alot of the "Hit X HR with 1B" Awards missions, I'm just leaving that 91OVR Eddie Murray in my lineup because he rakes righties and lefties as a switch hitter. My approach might change if I had to use someone like, Anthony Rizzo, or CJ Cron. That's all

Again...the community complains when they dont have freedom to use who they want (seasons), how do you think the community would react when they are FORCED to use a bronze or silver to get HRs/XBHs for an 88 diamond?
You guys are more than welcome to accept that challenge whenever you want....you just choose not to and now you have a new complaint. They arent forcing us to use low tier cards to complete challenges.
Also, while you're using that 91 Eddie Murray for those XBHs with a 1B challenges, I'm using the 99 Freeman so i can P5 him before the forever season. We all have the choice to play how we want. No need to restrict us to low tier cards we wouldnt use otherwise.

But that's the point...it gives them reason to be used other than collection fodder. I agree with your saying to each their own, not trying to be disrespectful to how you prefer to play.

@Sarge1387_PSN I would like to split the ranked modes and improve upon them individually. Wild and Live.
Ive come to the consensus that if that happened no one would play Live or Set Limited mode and just play wild. Which would then just prove limiting your deck to sets is a bad idea to begin with.I do think you're right though about the lower ranked Live cards. If SDS wants set limits on ranked they are going about it horribly and need to split the ranked modes or get rid of sets and seasons altogether but that's not likely to happen even going into 25. SDS seems set in their ways.
Every other card game has a sets and seasons type method ie Hearthstone or magic and it works for them cause they have diversity in a very large pool of cards. SDS doesn't have that but they think they do. They could absolutely pull off a Live only ranked but clearly don't know how to implement it.
-
I liked in MLB 21 how for some of these missions, they had you actually play a real game and beat a team. I think some of the missions were like Beat the Padres on All Star Difficulty or higher for example. They haven't gone back to that since 21.
Agree with the OP - this 'Get HRs with 1B ' garbage is garbage. You don't even play baseball. It's like they force you to exploit the game and it's a huge waste of time.

You must be new to this game and really are not understanding. The stuff I'm talking about existed in the game 5 years ago. They changed the whole model and replaced it with boring moments and repeated stat grinds you can do with any of the 50 diamonds everyone has by the second week of release.

Your big idea to solve the "wash rinse repeat" model of "get HRs with 1B" or "Get hits with LF" is to make them player or team specific. How revolutionary. So instead of being limited to "Get HRs with ANY 1B IN THE GAME", we'll have the broad challenge of "Get HRs with a Live Series 1B on the Rockies". What a game changer. Someone give this kid all the moneys to run SDS. Your solution is basically an older model of "wash rinse repeat". Cant get any dumber than that.
