    TLDR at bottom

Content creators going back to older versions of the game before this one has even been out for half a year and the flood of complaints from the playerbase makes this edition of the game look bleak. The game may not be "dead" but it's definitely on some form of life support and to say otherwise is denial.

Offline players feel left out and I can't imagine anything SDS could do to save the offline experience right now but as an avid online player I definitely think there is at least one major thing they could do to begin early survival stage and make the slow recovery on 24 and prepare for 25.

For the high horse owning, Heaven bound saints on Earth who just simply love the game and can't find complaints cause you just don't have time to get upset about anything ever, just move on and ignore this. You're too perfect to understand these kinds of things. You have so much money to spend and even if the product was bad you're totally fine with it cause 🤷 it's just money. So enjoy the game and buy more packs. I am happy for you.

As for those that care about the game I'll get started.

In my opinion they need to split the ranked modes. I think players would enjoy a Live Series only and Wild mode for ranked. A huge reason previous versions of the game are doing better than 24 are because the player has access to their entire library in competitive games.

Remove sets and stick to Live and other series cards. There wouldn't really be a need for Core as Live and Wild are the only ways of using cards in this theoretical system I'll lay out. Core in this new method would just be another series of card. Jeter storyline cards or negro league cards wouldn't be core in this example.

If it were up to me there would be three easily accessible types of ranked game modes. Maybe 4 but 3 for explaining the concept.

    1. Live
You may only use a full roster of your owned Live players. No need for sets as the only usable set can be from Live Series of the 2024 season. Most of the cards if not all of them can be gained from packs that SDS loves to sell. They are cheap and can be boosted in live time based on their performance. There is no need to worry about overloaded content or set based cards with expiration dates. It keeps the "fresh" argument because of how often cards are updating or could update more based on SDS sync with season games and player stats.
I would NOT do wildcards but maybe just one and would recommend only captains. Wildcards are already a hot button issue and you won't need wildcards for this mode as it keeps it Live and we will be getting to the Wild mode soon anyways. In this example Live Ranked should not use them but there's room to debate that as long as the base concept to using live cards remains.

    2. Wild
This is rather self explanatory but the base idea of this mode is no limits. All series cards you own are on the table. However, in a perfect world of content and card drops you would need to implement a ban system like many other competitive games use to balance the meta. This would mean players can ban out a limited amount of cards to self regulate and balance their experience. This may not be necessary for TS but we know some combos get out of hand ie Santana boost or over abundance of gimmick players that would dominate the meta. Having a Wild no limits deck building with bans is very good for the community to control the meta. This would be on a game to game process. I don't know how the best way to implement this with the current squad build system but I'm sure it's very possible.

    3. Live Roster Teams
Play competitive games head to head PvP with a live 2024 team roster. You wanna play as the Phillies with the best record in the league currently? Well grab the team and go against someone playing with the Orioles who have a dominate mid season and a handful of Supercharged players. We already kind of have this but it's not in the same area of DD ranked and most of the time this gets returned to community hosted tournaments. I don't think that should be the case. This should have a special spot in Ranked competitive category and deserves some attention.
The game wouldn't feel stale as you would have multiple ways to play competitively.

    TL/DR
SDS, get rid of sets and seasons immediately and drop the best possible content you can while trying to rebuild The Show 25 from the ground up.

This isn't the only thing that would save the game or would be needed to save the game. I think with some humility from SDS it's their most surefire quick fix option to recovering some of the lost playerbase especially as we approach NCAA. I don't care for NCAA but I know the community does and sees it as a big competitor to TS24. There's more games coming in the fall that will do far more damage. I'm sure Elden Ring expansion did more damage to active player base than NCAA will.

They won't get rid of Sets as they would have to scrap everything and start over. They would have to recode the entire game.

I don't think it would be an entire recording. It would just be removing restrictions at this point. Much like how it works right now in 23

I’m an offline player, so I am unable to speak to your online mode suggestions. The reason I quit 24 and went back to 22 is because of XP progression. The amount of games that need to be played to progress is insane. Besides making it difficult to get through the programs, it caused me to feel like I was spinning my wheels.

I played a few hours of S2 to see if it was different, and it wasn’t. I decided the frustration wasn’t worth it and stopped.

For what it’s worth, in 22, my 1-0 conquest wins are netting me 2,500+ XP. Sure, I don’t need it in 22, but I feel like I accomplished something (besides the win).

So the short answer to my long winded ramble is to go back to the XP progression we had in previous years.

Is 22 available for the PS5? I only see PS4 Standard. But 21 has PS5 Standard.

@X-FREEZE-OFF-X_PSN I think you can still download it to the PS5 but it could have bugs. Streamers play it fine
