New Name for Face of the Franchise
-
I would say Tatis is the face of the franchise for the padres, same with Buster for the Giants. Also, I would say Mancini is the face of the franchise for the O's, he might be the only player non O's fans can name..
-
Yeah, I was pretty upset not to get a 93-95 Freddie Freeman instead of an 89 Ozzie Albies. Albies is the third best player on the Braves, at best. He's "a" face of the franchise, but not "THE" face of the franchise. I agree that it is a little misleading.
Also, I realize that Acuna will probably be Atlanta's FOTF in another year or two, but Freddie has been the guy since Chipper retired.

You know the series is called FaceS of the franchise right? None of these are exactly crazy choices
-
How can you say ,hasn't entirely lived up to potential? Weren't they rookies last year, and didn't play a full season at that?
-
I think the series is called Faces of the Franchise, so maybe they’ll have more....or maybe they won’t.

I mean, the Reds?
I guess Votto is the face. Or he is the 5th best guy on a bad team.
Still the face. MVP
-
Lorenzo Cain isnt anywhere near the face of the Brewers.
-
You heard them say why they picked who they picked, right?
You weren't gonna get a FotF Trout, Freeman, or Yellich b/c they didn't want to just repeat diamonds. They wanted to spread the wealth.

Yes, I agree. But they should have titled it differently, Face of the Franchise implies the one player most fans associate with that team.

I can name their entire SDS starting lineup at this point thanks to them being the team of choice for offline grinding lol
-
Well they can’t just give all the dudes that already have high diamond cards another diamond so
-
I love what they did with the face of the franchise. The base players aren’t good enough to start, but the FOTF versions are. That means you can get the actual stars of the team, which are mostly diamond live series cards, plus a boosted lesser player. It’s great.

I don’t think you pay Machado all that mo way for him NOT to be the face of the franchise. Buster and Mancini...maybe. But I think they fit into that best guy on a horrible team situation

That's cool and all, but I dont think any Brewer fan is all that excited for Cains card. Couldve been Woodruff or Hiura and it wouldve been much more interesting.

I just think Tatis is the more popular player right now, which plays part in the “face of the franchise” type player

Well if that is the case EVERY player has a face. So therefore EVERYONE on the 40 man roster is a face of the franchise
-
Lol and Blackmon is perfect for Colorado, called that one.

Ok sure...so it’s non-diamonds only..They still missed the mark on a number better choices
LeMahieu, Machado, Thor, Suarez, Semien, Jensen, Story, etc
Btw...how is Harper a diamond and Soto not.

Lemahieu played for the yankees for 1 season and isn't a homegrown talent, I can see where you see Machado has the contract but Tatis is still the face of the padres, Thor makes sense, can't disagree with that one. Votto literally is the face of the Reds and has been for 15 years. Suarez has has one good season. Olson has been in Oakland his entire career and has been a consistently good player, semien has had 2 good seasons, Jansen is a relief pitcher, IMO that can't be anywhere associated with a face of the franchise unless you are Mariano Rivera, Story is a diamond, thus why he is not.
