Have barely played season 2

The game has been really boring for offline players this year. Once TAs are finished there is little to play for until the next one drops. There are barely any programs to work on so all there is to do is play CPU over and over. I get it that the focus switched to online play long ago and that’s fine but it hasn’t been this bad in years past for offline. I will definitely be shutting things down once the college football game comes out in July.
It's not any better online either. Sets are a bad idea for everyone and DD as a whole online is just a mess. Streamers are already saying they will be trying out NCAA so we will see how this all plays out late summer.
-
I think it’s become clearer by the day that the game this year is a mailed in effort. Being handled by a skeleton crew where a good chunk of the old guard that used to work on the game was either reassigned or laid off. So what we get is a rushed effort where drops are few and far between and the game just feels hollow and an absolute shell of what it used to be. Come July it’s going to be a ghost town and it’s truly sad that this has become the reality of this once great franchise.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN yeah sounds about right, sadly. Wish it wasn't the case cause my experience with TS23 wasn't this bad. Idk how it got worse but it did and it sucks cause at peak the game is quite good. Just so poorly managed.....

I cant wait til the end of July "Welp NCAA sucks....exactly the same game as it was 20 years ago now with microtransactions. Has The Show gotten any better?" posts

Yep, me too. See you guys in July. I can't wait to read this forum and see the " restructuring" of seasons after NCAA.

I find it laughable that people are talking about NCAA like its gonna be the savior of sports games this year like they've done anything new with the NFL license they've had for 20 years.
Offline MLB players - The Show is the same game over and over every year. We need new game modes...theres nothing to do.
EA Sports - Releases Madden every summer....no new game modes in 20 years. No 99s given away just for logging into the game. Microtransactions consisting of BUYING a 68 overall that requires 100 games played to make it a 75.....slaps a new skin on Madden and rebrands it NCAA....
MLB offline players - OMFG THIS GAME IS GONNA BE GREAT!!!

People will literally only play it for dynasty mode like they did 10 years ago, which by the way, makes RTTS look like garbage. The ultimate team garbage can kick rocks for all I care.

So basically you're buying a 10 year old game with updated graphics. Sounds like a revolutionary game.

Considering I last played it on the PS2/Xbox it will be revolutionary at least for me

Considering I last played it on the PS2/Xbox it will be revolutionary at least for meBalders Gate 3 was game of the year and sold FACK tons of copies. The previous version of the game BG2 was 15 years before 3 came out. BG3 is easily one of the best games in the past decade to come out period. The sales numbers prove that and the community proves that.
I'm not an NCAA fan and probably won't get it. But if it can happen for BG then it can happen for NCAA. The SDS simps here are just terrified cause it's possible the game is as good as people hope. I hope it is good and I hope MLB TS24 improves.
I would not be surprised if NCAA does kick [censored] and SDS removed sets, drops content as much as possible, and gives double XP every weekend. Id be happy with it cause that means the competition worked. -
@TripleH-4481_PSN to be fair they said the same thing about last years too. not really sure what their plans are, but they show up 1 every 2 months they put a young blonde female to get the nerds interest who is all excited to say spin that wheel. but there is very little effort anymore. I remember when a live stream about content every 2-3 weeks was a huge deal. the Last 2 years besides storylines which were cool....not only the community but the developers seem to be bored and done. Listen there is a ton that goes into a game. to make a change and to add specific features. But even Ramone seems to be spent. Maybe 2 teams to work on the even and the odd years (maybe they already do that). competition for new features. Everything the last 2 years has seemed meh at best.

Well, I still have NCAA 2010 with the Utah QB for my PS3 and MLB the Show 13. I still have it for Ted Williams and the dynasty mode. Maybe I ll jump into it if the seasons become unplayable

"Scrambling and seeing what sticks"
They are not going to restructure anything. About all that can be expected is more XP rewarded in programs and adjustment of the rewards in the XP Path.
They won't abandon Seasons mid year. They are not abandoning the extra pack strategy mid year.
I hope NCAA is as great as so many of you hope it will be but what I am seeing, just like I see in this community every year before release, are unrealistically high expectations
-
@PAinPA_PSN for sure. Idk that's NCAA will kill TS24. I do know streamers will be at least temporarily dropping TS to play NCAA though. That's enough to have a noticable dip and active players. It the game is bad then argument becomes all sports games suck. If the game is good then it becomes good for the sports gaming community. It would hopefully shed light and force companies like SDS and EA to keep up the quality of their games.
You also can't say "grass is greener" when in reality they don't even have to play either. The gaming industry isn't just SDS and EA.
People will eventually just stop playing both and play other video games again. So the grass is greener on the other side buuuuuuutttt there's a lot more other pastures with Saint Augustine and Bermuda and some fruit too. There's not just one other pasture.... -
The thought of filling out a lineup to do TA missions for the FOURTH time in only 3 months makes me feel a physical reaction. It sounds like actual torture. Obviously I'm being dramatic when I say that but I don't see myself coming back to play this game again.
The best part of 21 and 22 was that if you put in a lot of time and effort to grind things out, you could unlock the collection cards as they release and just play ranked or whatever mode you wanted when you felt like it. Now they are condensing the entire game cycle that typically lasts around 9-10 months and trying to do that 3 times. Gatekeeping what cards we can and can't use, releasing cards in packs that are only good for a week or two and not worth using stubs on. At least in 23 there was some overlap when seasons reset so the grinding was kind of worth your time, this year every single card is just made totally unusable except 1. The TA cards are atrocious and the online modes are stale. They said they fixed foul balls but I haven't played since then so I'll take their word for it. They can't even monetize properly, just go full EA casino mode if you're gonna make your product bad anyways.
Just ranting, but I think I'm actually thankful because my life honestly feels better without this game taking up 2-4 hours of my time per day. I've been playing all the old Fallout games, preparing for the new Elden Ring DLC, exercising more, reading books I've been meaning to read. NCAA coming out will be awesome, but I think overall I am done with these card collecting modes. They use the same manipulative and awful game design that mobile games use and I want to thank SDS for finally removing my blindfold and letting me see truly how much of my time I wasted the last few years on their product.
