Any old farts good at this game?
-
I'm 54, play offline, how good I am depends on the amount of arthritis I have on the day I'm playing.
-
I am 46. I am very streaky in online. I find offline play to be too boring so I try to do the minimum of conquest and mini-seasons. I'll do the moments and the normal Showdowns once. Rest of the time it is ranked seasons where I am currently around 210 - 220. Would be better if I didn't automatically quit when playing an opponent in a created stadium. By the end of the game cycle I expect to be about 20 above .500 when I am only using my favorite squad and not trying to achieve TA and whatnot.

You're all a bunch of young farts. I'm 74 (75 in sept.). LOL I do fair at the game. I play at veteran or all-star levels.

I’m 49 and it is really cool to see dudes my age and older still playing. I can remember when I didn’t even want people knowing I still gamed. Well, I didn’t go out of my way to tell em’. Anyway I made Pennant this year once so far. Last I made it to whatever the next one up is for 1 game and was sent packing back down… lol. I have been doing a lot of HR Derby this year, number 18 or 19 on the leaderboard, and it has helped my timing a great deal. Another tip I have for ya older players. Get a DualShock Edge controller. You can adjust the response times on the sticks. I know it has helped me a bunch. Maybe it may help ya’ll as well. Kinda pricey though.
O A D L Old As Dirt League has a nice ring to it… lol I’m on ps5. Interested in the league idea for sure.

@jaychvz_XBL im in an over 40 custom league. It's a chill group. All that we ask is that you be active and play a couple games a week. Let me know if you are interested.

@sleever44_PSN See my message in this thread to another player. If you are interested let me know.

This is great to see older guys playing. I'm 43 and love playing . I play both online and offline. I'm can normally get to about 600 in RS but then I move on to something else like events or offline.

45 and this is the first year that i can definitively see I'm getting worse at the game. Made WS in past. I usually play on HoF. Now that I'm older my interest really lies in strategy game and mlb the show. I am interested in the new NCAA football though

I’m 45. Starting playing in ‘20 and got beat up on. Slowly started to get better. Made WS for the first time last year. This year 2x flawless and on the verge of WS. I woulda had it last year except for a stupid disconnect cost me 30 points at the end. I’ll get it this time.

I’m 57 . I’m disabled. ( chronic back & hip pain , 2 bad surgeries ) . I mostly play casually . Mostly rookie or veteran against the cpu on DD or Franchise. I Love baseball . I play once in a while against people and get my [censored] beat and go back to casual. I’ve been playing The Show since the first year on Xbox. I mostly have a lot of fun, but this year’s game has been pretty frustrating at times with bad glitches, bad play mechanics and other problems. But I’m still playing & hoping it gets better.

I'm old and terrible.

I am 52 and descent at the game. I can still beat my 14 year old son, some of the time. Not really digging this year's game with the Season format, but I used to love this game. Been playing since the PS3 first came out in 2007. While I can and sometimes do play at higher levels, I prefer Veteran and Allstar. I play online occasionally but I tend to stick to the offline content.

@BJDUBBYAH_PSN I'm 42

@jaychvz_XBL No not really. 56 and my reflexes are shot. So are my eyes.

I’m 60,and every time I think I’m good I go play ranked and get humbled, did make it to all-star level once last year but as long as I’ve been playing I would think that I would be better I think I’ve topped out, still enjoy it and probably play forever

Just turned 50. I play legend in RTTS but I have to turn down the CPU pitching fastball and off-speed sliders to the lowest speed. Otherwise, I'm late on every fastball unless I fully commit to fastball and I have no chance to hit off-speed if I guess wrong. To make up for that, I raise the CPU pitching accuracy almost to the maximum. This way, I get the hardest pitch sequences the game has to offer, and I have to be able to hit pitches on the edges of the zone, and I give myself a chance to still make contact if I don't guess the speed correctly.

69yrs old started playing MLB the show 21 . I play mostly offline DD. Conquest is my favorite game mode. And I enjoy completing all of my collections. I play friends online and occasionally I will go into a ranked game. I think I’m fairly good lol

I'm 47 and have been playing baseball games since 1996(HS Years). I still have a few versions om the PS2, but came to XBox in 2022. I am teaching my 8 and 11 year old boys all the small things in the game you may never learn in the 8U and above levels. I started playing online and a few months ago and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I am better the some and worst then most and like Crosley or Fenway as my home stadiums. I would use The Polo Grounds but am not that bold. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the play. I wish spotting pitches were a tad bit easier, but I enjoy the game.

Late 40s. Been playing this since the 989 days. I'm still no good online. Definitely prefer the conquests etc.
I just love baseball though, even though the Oakland A's are ripping out my heart. I have a hard time thinking about not having this game to play every year, good or bad. -

You mean... "The A's"
