R2 before every pitch
-
What is the deal with quick blip r2 or whatever on Xbox before every pitch..noticed almost every Xbox user does it
-
It is not an xbox issue. It is a cheesy way if disrupting your pitch motions to produce bad pitches … fortunately it is not a majority
-
Hi. I click r2 and will check the pitcher's pitches and energy and confidence. I don't do it to disrupt but this is from me and what i do if you see me

If you press and hold (which I assume you do) because you’re reading the screen it is not cheesy.
People just tap it quickly to try to time you up when pitching to force a bad pitch.

Anything the game allows you to do is fair game and will get abused. While it's annoying you can still work around it or do it back to them. TS has very toxic mechanics and playerbase unfortunately so it's nature of the beast. You can try to pitch as fast as possible and beat them to it OR just take more time and slow pitch. The game will eventually prevent them from doing it too many times if they keep it up so it shouldn't part all game. Patience is best.

Thing is they do it so quick before you even pick a pitch ..seems pointless
-
@YOSHI24_XBL never said it eas an Xbox issue..just an observation that a majority are Xbox users

When they abuse it do it back and it's also good for you to do anyways so you can understand their pitch mix and what they like to throw at you. I'm not saying it's a good mechanic or what they are doing it's ok. I'm just saying it can be dealt with and you can do it back.
I'm sorry. It's just a part of the game that won't go away. If you want to keep playing the game then you just have to work around it. -
@AdeptOfMemory_PSN I know all this..was just curious why..as I said they blip it so fast that it serves no purpose.
-
Not every pitch no. I did not see that part.
-
I remember someone told me that they only "bunt dance" (with every batter) in order to "help with their (swing) timing". LOL
-
@xElRojo44x_MLBTS now that is funny
-
I do this on almost every pitch. Not to disrupt timing, but simple to check my opponent’s confidence, pitch confidence, stamina etc. The game moves fast and can’t get all the information I need on one press. I really wish there was a second screen option so I wouldn’t disrupt my opponent while checking ratings
-
Some people like to pitch too quickly and this helps slow them a bit .
-
This stuff is SO easy to fix. Just put the R2 info on the screen every pitch and take it off then the windup starts, just like the strike zone.
Want to fix bunt dancing? Significantly nerf hitter's ratings for the next pitch after two quick bunt taps. There is absolutely no reason to do it. You either show bunt because you're moving the runners over or you drop a bunt last second to surprise the fielders. I've never seen any baseball player bunt dance. It's not a baseball thing.
-
Yes bunt dancing should nerf your hitting.
-
I did some MLB The Show survey near the end of last year where I suggested that R2 take 30 seconds (or 15, or 10) off the pause timer. I thought that might stop the potential abuse of that button.
-
You hold R2 more than one time, per AB, I'm doing the same. Or at least taking the full tim alloted to pitch.
If you can't remember what pitches (usually 4-5 at most) that a pitcher throws, and where he threw them, then you're not 'equipped' to play this game online.
-
@jaychvz_XBL no you miss the point..they blip it so quick it's quicker then you can even pick a pitch
