@AdeptOfMemory there’s less RNG using analog than there is using pinpoint lol
-
@AdeptOfMemory Pretty sure it was ranked, but I could be wrong. Quirks working as designed are not RNG. I just don’t see the RNG people blame their losses on.
-
@GoozeFn If it is ranked then yes I would agree very different. I'm making points thinking he's talking about Road to the Show or PvE.
RNG is absolutely a major factor otherwise we wouldn't have the insane foul ball issues and perfect perfects going straight into infielders gloves.
If we are talking about PvE then would make more arguments about RNG and quirks but if it's PvP then yeah not much you can do other than figure out what mechanic is not being used properly. -
@TheCanuckler309 Well, no. PAR is bigger with analog than PP.
-
@yankblan par doesn’t matter with analog, if you hit the hoop the ball goes exactly where you aimed it every time. That doesn’t happen with pinpoint, perfect release with pinpoint the ball will land within the par, perfect release with analog the ball goes exactly where it was aimed.
-
@TheCanuckler309 Allow me to respectfully disagree with that for a couple of reasons:
In terms of accuracy vs method, the scale is PPP>meter>analog>pulse>buttons.
Also, most competitive players use PPP vs other methods, so if it's a question of edge, most would use analog since according to what you're saying, it would be meta.
The only way I could see where you could have a point, is that analog is maybe more forgiving in terms of input than PPP. Having used analog in the past, PPP is more accurate, if used correctly.
But PAR is applied to all input methods, so yes PAR does matter. Just to prove I'm not just a contrarian or an a-hole (or a contrarian a-hole), I'll put it to the test tonight and post my findings here. But unless something changed very recently, I don't see how that's true.

@AdeptOfMemory said in This game:
@Easy_Duhz_It_ he was playing the CPU if I'm not mistaken.....
It was ranked. He said "my last 2 RS games..."
-
@Easy_Duhz_It_ Was under the impression that meant Road the the Show. Thanks for correction. Playing against a real person would yield very different results. Most people say ranked as that's a short enough term to use.
-
@yankblan that’s incorrect, according to SDS’s graphic analog has the second smallest PAR, but what I said about input is correct, ever since the change last year to pinpoint analog has been better. People changing or not doesn’t really change that. If you hit the hoop on analog the ball goes exactly where you aimed it. That doesn’t happen with pinpoint. Pinpoint goes in the par analog is 1:1 where you aimed
-
@yankblan that’s why when you pitch with analog the par doesn’t show on the “result” location, because it’s irrelevant to the input the ball goes where your input is
-
@TheCanuckler309 I have heard this before but I really don't like anything outside of pinpoint right now. Pinpoint feels the best as far as mechanics but the RNG I know skyrockets when using timing, classic, or meter.
-
@AdeptOfMemory It's not
