Lagging feeling when hitting

So occasionally I notice an obvious lag to my swing when hitting in online DD. It seems to happen usually when I’m the home team. The timing just seems waaaay off and laggy. Flailing 2 seconds after the fastball goes by when I know my swing timing was good. I know my connection is great, so it’s not on my end.
Is this a connection issue with my opponent? It really makes it difficult to hit when I feel like I’m seeing the ball well.

Yes, the game runs on P2P, it doesn’t matter how good is your connection if the opponent is on Mc WiFi.

They also just have [censored] servers. There really isn't much to do about that. This is an SDS thing
