This game is dead the casuals have left

The game is dead to me for sure. Sucks because I love playing baseball games but I’m not gonna spend $1k every season to buy all the players you would need to complete collections. SDS is killing the franchise.
-
Game definitely has passed its peak and this years game is cooked. Sony needs to increase SDS’s budget to expand their dev team and reduce expectations on how much money they bring in. Either that or have a new developer make a MLB game because what ever this year is doing more harm than good to baseball in general.

@AdeptOfMemory thank you Karen
Settle down Ken... I'm just kidding

I play offline mainly and am extremely underwhelmed by the game this year. Maybe it's too many years of the same thing and I need to take a break.
I tried some online and while I had some good games, the OP is right where in the last few weeks, I've gone up against just great players.
The only online mode where I can get a competitive game vs someone near my skill set is the Casual online mode. There's no rankings in that mode and sometimes you'll have people quit, but I have had some great games on casual online with players who just wanted to play for fun. Even if I"m down 8-0 and the other guy is playing straight up I don't quit.

@jake98833 no one was even talking to you jakey poo

@VioletNine9 I ran into two people with negative records, so I know the truth :). Try and learn statistics and google the phrase „cognitive bias“

Do you guys think Ross and Rachel stayed together on Friends?
@arvcpa_MLBTS let’s see if I get banned this time :).

If you get a ban, and orders in this thread don't, then thus year is definitely messed up.

I'm as casual as they come for a DD player. I'd love to argue you're wrong but I have slowed down over last few weeks. Only thing that has kept me is completing programs for the fun of it. The 99's aren't getting the juices flowing but I'll still play some regardless. Everything just seems stale for some reason. Maybe it's the same cards over and over, maybe it's the same grind, maybe it's the desire to play online is nonexistent for various reasons - I don't know.
But I don't think it's accurate to say we "left", but it is accurate to say we're playing less.
-
I havent played in a week, this game is a soulless cash grab with absolutely nothing to get excited about. Who the hell wants to log in tomorrow to grind for some cards that expire in literally a month? Not to mention all these cards are the same players we've been grinding for for years now.
This content model is so goddamn stupid, they ignored all community feedback and sold out. Now they have a dying franchise. Idiots.

Dude you spend all day defending this game and SDS year in and year out give it a rest. The amount of people you claim are just conspiracy theorists is frightening. you’re using gaslighting phrases like crazy. Show me the numbers that prove me wrong. That’s right you cant.

The seasons model certainly does seem self-defeating. And this year's game is indeed way more of a cash-grab than any previous iteration.
I hardly play anymore....

This is a subject that needs WAY more discussion.

can't wait to see the complaints in less than a week about people not having anything to do as they burn through 2 weeks worth of content in 4 days lol
-
@aaronjw76 "What's the Cheapest way to do exchanges so I can do these TA's as fast as possible?" "Sick of the Grind...Can't I just play my way?" LOL
-
@aaronjw76 SDS needs to learn how to spread the content out thru 2 weeks instead of dumping it all out in 1 day. Of course folks (not me) are going to try and finish stuff fast as they can. Its just what they do. And it's a double XP weekend lol
-
And considering they only have small amount of time until s2 comes out im sure they want to use those 99s before they are worthless

You know, pacing content so that it all doesn't come out on ONE DAY can actually be part of SDS's content strategy. That's been terrible this year.

The "casuals" who can't stand online play, I get it. Events and BR are no fun at all for them because EVERY player gets thrown into the allstar arena where they will come across the really good to great players more often than not. They get pummeled and get discouraged. There are not enough below average to above average players in these modes for them to be equally matched up with. It's just not right that the goons in this game get to matchmake consistently against the less skilled because the game is setup this way. People always say "just wait a week or two when the new modes come out to allow the good to great players get theirs first" nonsense. That's BS.
