Once I hit 70 points for a team will affinity continue to accrue towards spring stage 2 for when it unlocks?

no. they don't carry over, according to pre-season twitch stream

Upon further review, we got a question answered (which I'm not happy about but they can't say we weren't warned): A minute earlier, they mention we have to complete Stage 1 before we can START Stage 2. If you're holding out hope you can do Stage 2 missions to get Stage 1 points (as I was), time to abandon hope.

Yeah that sucks but this is why I asked the question to be sure just got to the ALCS with the Twins and hit 70. Now, I know too just save and start another team. Thanks guys.

In that case, I'm glad I finished up 70/70 on the FotF affinities I completed.

But you can still complete Stage 1, even if Stage 2 has been released?

Yeah, it's that same progression like any other program or reward path. That's the way it sounds like from that YT video. You'll still be able to do Stage 1, you'll just be building up like normal until you get to Stage 2.
